Dang! I’m finding this one surprisingly difficult to answer! I’m not normally a liquid lipstick girl, but they’ve grown on me more in the pandemic because I like that the matte ones stay put and don’t transfer to my masks.
Still though, there’s something about cream lipstick in a good old-fashioned bullet… So I gotta go with the cream!

If my dry cheeks were answering, they’d scream “CREAM ALL THE WAY.” But, ultimately, powder always seems to be a little bit easier to apply, so I’ll go that route.

I’ve been attached at the hip to my NARS eyeshadow palette lately, so I’m going with powder (although I do love luscious cream shadows to bits).

Concealer: liquid or cream? I use a second light layer of my regular foundation under my eyes so I guess I’ll say liquid. I’m in my late seventies and it’s a technique that works so much better than using a specific concealer product.
Foundation: liquid, cream or powder? Definitely liquid—light coverage but buildable.
Lipstick: liquid or cream? Cream. Liquid lipsticks are very drying and unflattering on my old lips.
Blush: liquid, cream or powder? Cream.

Would a cream one be less revealing but still luminescent?
Just asking for a (ahem) friend…
I’m in my late seventies and love to apply highlighter on my defined cheekbones. This is what works for me: I like to use a cream, cream stick, or liquid because they warm up and meld with the foundation that I’ve already applied. First, I warm the highlighter between my fingers and then I tap it on (swiping will disturb the foundation underneath). If necessary, I then gently blend out the edges with a soft brush. I find that powders—even the creamy ones—sit on the surface to one degree or another and so every tiny nook, cranny, lump, or bump tends to show up. That being said, no matter what format you choose, it’s best to forgo anything with visible shimmer particles or that has a metallic gleam. True, things that look more satin or pearl-like will create a more subtle glow, but they won’t emphasize rough texture.
