I find socks very frustrating, I like cute socks but I have size 10 feet. Even when socks say they go up to size 10 they are not long enough and I get holes in the heels very quickly 🙁

I am a jewelry nut…old, new, silver, gold, I love it all!
My most prized jewelry possession (besides my wedding rings) is an old gold snake ringl which my grandfather had brought over from Germany when he immigrated in the 1930’s. Grandpa gave me this ring when I was 11. One day the turquoise which was set into the snake’s head fell out . Then one day the ring itself was mysteriously lost! I was horrified and didn’t want to tell my parents I had lost Grandpa’s snake ring! But it turns out my sneaky parents had taken the ring to the jewelers to have it fitted with a diamond to replace the lost turquoise. Boy, did they laugh when they presented the ring to me on my birthday and saw the relief on my face!

I LOVE cute socks. I collect them. My favourites– two pairs of children’s spongebob socks with little spongebob-head pompoms at the back… one is holiday themed! I also have a pair of red ones with giraffes on them that my beautiful mom bought me because she knows I love the colour red, and that I love giraffes. 🙂

Socks are great in the winter, especially those that go up to the knee. I pair them with shorts as sleeping attire because I hate it when I’m awakened in the middle of my sleep due to pajama pants/sweatpants rolling up to the knees (how uncomfortable!) and my toes and legs are cold.

I’ve been wanting this Tarte palette since I first saw it on Sephora but I had to choose my purchases wisely during F&F so I had to forgo the purchase.
My style in jewelry is very eclectic. I love mixing new with vintage (true vintage not just old pieces of “junk”). I sometimes have a tendency to go heavy on the accessories but in a tasteful, non bag lady or Olsen twin kind of way.

Um, I guess my most precious heirlooms are the wedding rings my mother gave me. They were the first set that my father gave to her when they were married. She gave them to me when my dad bought her rings with bigger diamonds a few years ago. I’m getting married in February, and I heard that some brides have things that are important to them sewn into the hem of their wedding dress. So I might have the rings sewn into the hem of my dress, and then they could be my “something old.”
I’ve never tried Tarte eyeshadows but their tinted chap sticks and eyeliner failed me.
I’m definitely a minimalist when it comes to jewelry, but sometimes I wonder if I should spice it up some more. A nice chunky necklace, like the one that adorns the top of the Tarte makeup box, might be my next purchase! =)

I think it’s a personal preference. My family always got real trees for Christmas while my BF’s family always used their fake one. Personally, I like coming home to a house smelling of Christmas, y’know? Though, I agree, a fake one is more practical… just less fun. Also, do you have somewhere to store a fake tree? HTH you make a decision. Currently, we have a mini fake tree with cute makeup ornaments… no joke 🙂

I love Tarte cosmetics! I’m not usually a fan of huge palettes with lip products mixed in, but this one looks very versatile and easy to use! It’s really the eyeshadows that look super appealing to me. I find that Tarte eyeshadows are super easy to blend and workable.
Spent the day at home … sick 🙁 Oh well that is my Monday gone (at least!) Love that this product is all natural but unfortunately it doesn’t sell here in New Zealand so I’d lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve to get my hands on this palette.

My favorite pieces of jewelry happen to be my grandmothers. When she passed away 5 years ago I took many of her clip on earrings, some even with matching pins. It was so fun this summer to put on my new black dress for a wedding and accessorize with her clip earrings – it was perfect.

today marks the one year anniversary of my SO, Luke, being electrocuted by a pig.
unfortunately it didn’t result in any super-pig powers, like supersonic squealing or the ability to be mighty tasty. I have a gold locket that was my grandma’s. She gave it to me for my first communion and told me that it would always keep me safe, even when she was far away. She passed away rather unexpectedly later that year, but whenever I wear it, I know she’s close.

I absolutly love to wear tall socks! My favorite pair of tall socks are these gray socks with three white stripes at the top. They remind me of sock puppet socks, in fact if they weren’t so darn comfortable i’d probably cut them up, glue some eyes on to them and have my self a sock puppett.

Hey Karen, glad that you had a good Thanksgiving in Hawaii! I just got back from the worst wedding ever in Chicago. The one good thing about it was that it was an excuse to wear the new bracelet and necklace that I bought at Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft on Black Friday. I don’t usually wear costume jewellery (sterling silver all the way usually), but these are excellent quality (heavy glass beads) so I couldn’t resist.
The Dukan diet is killing me, I got taken to a sushi shop and couldn’t touch a thing >.< But the diet works and the SO is doing it with me so what can I really complain about……

Socks. They should ideally be seamless otherwise they drive me crazy. Insole padding is a huge bonus. Also they are useless if they don’t stay put (i.e., I should not have to keep pulling them up every 2 minutes…). I am all about the tactile nature of socks, but cute patterns, kitties, and occasional sparkle on them rock as well… also, I love this gift set for my sister…she would be in heaven with it for Christmas, especially since Tarte is cruelty-free! 🙂 Thanks so much Karen! I have a barely 6month old Persian kitty and I love him to bits! He loves to sleep on my bed or in the bedside drawer which my fiance has emptied out for the little baby. Oh, my Persian kitty’s name is Hugo (trying to keep it in the same league as my first cat, Chanel, although my mother calls him Khali, coz it sounds “Persian” to her), but he knows his name is Baby (or Baby Boy).

I love socks! I always wear them instead of slippers in house. I have these special ‘house socks” with anti-slib and they are so nice and warm and it keeps me from slipping in the kitchen (duhh!).
But one thing I have to with my socks, I have to put them on in the same order every day. First left and then right, the other way around just doesn’t feel good!
I love Tarte, and this would cover practically every makeup need, whether dressy or casual. One of my fave things is to wear funny socks, especially when dressed business like for work as it tickles me to know that I have sheep or penguins on my toes when I’m in a suit LOL

I’m not much of a jewelry person. In fact, I’m terrible at accessorizing. I wear my engagement ring and wedding band, my watch and my diamond studs everyday. Yes, everyday. And that’s all. As for socks, I love them. I feel cold and naked without socks (but in the interest of good taste, I don’t actually wear them with sandals or anything like that). 🙂
I love jewelry and makeup. I was always afraid to wear make-up until recently. I was very insecure of putting makeup on just because I had no idea where to start. I recently bought the basics of makeup and i super love it. I enjoy wearing makeup now especially on night outs. I get to flaunt myself all made up.
Back at work after 10 days off – not happy

That palette looks awesome!! I’ve never used Tarte products before, here in Colombia we don’t have as much options in make up as you have in the US. We have all the high end designers products, like Chanel, Dior, Smashbox, however we don’t get all of the products and they are almost twice the price!! Can you believe we did not have any MAC stores a year ago?? Now we only can get MAC in one cosmetic store and the products are way overpriced!

My favorite piece of jewelry would have to be a ring from my grandmother. It is gold with an onyx stone and small diamond in the center. It’s a little small so I can only wear it on my pinky finger but I absolutely adore it.

Family Heirloom: we don’t have any 🙁 The closest, traditional object in my family is an old shoe horn we call “The Palo.” Needless to say, it is not something we look at with any affection.
Taste in jewelry: I love the look of sparkly jewelry but I always dress so casually. The bling just looks weird paired with my yoga pants and sweater.
Socks: With the dropping temps, the stone tiles in my house are super cold, even when the heater is on. I must wear socks constantly.
Misc: Have you tried Zoya Kelly? I’m wearing it now and it is so beautiful. Forget Riva – Kelly is the shit.
Socks are awesome, but I feel like a serial socker…I wear holes through mine wayy too often!

It is SO interesting that you mention sock outlook, because currently mine is: THERE ARE NO GOOD SOCKS! They are all either too thick, too thin, wear out, dirty too quickly, aren’t made of anything that even resembles cotton, or are very, very, ridiculously expensive. I have been hunting and hunting for a good pair (well, okay 7 pairs . . . wait, make that 14, just so I never have to do an entire load of laundry just to have clean socks) for the winter, and . . . nada.

by the way, i tried the chanel pro lumiere as suggested; it’s quite fantastic, and actually amazingly similar to dior’s extreme wear foundation, although more of a semi-matte finish than dior’s. paired with my shu uemura #18 goat hair brush, the finish is AMAZING. thanks for the advice!

By the way, we don’t have many family heirlooms… but I guess my favorite are the paintings of my great-grandparents (my dad’s grandparents). I haven’t even met them, but… well, we inherited my dad’s aunt’s house (it’s a lakside house, so it’s gonna be our weekend house and the renovation of it is almost done :D), and when my parents were taking out the rubbish from the house, they found these little gems. They are not like really valuable paintings on canvas, but the style of painting is just fabulous, and I immediately felt attached to my great-grandma, and even my parents said that I look just like her :D. Another thing I love is a ring from my grandma… but I have to get it narrowed, because it’s way too big for my finger :S. It’s a yellow gold mixed with white gold type of ring with a little stone in the midddle. Sophisicated and delicate but unique 🙂 (and that’s just like my taste in jewellery… and if I wear a statement piece or something crazier, it has to be costume jewellery, because I just can’t stand chunky gold or silver things).
The only Christmas collection product I have purchased (yet) is from Elf. I got the golden super glittery nail polish, added about 5 layers and now my nails are catnip-trippy – I can not stop looking at all the pretty sparkles.
Thumbs up for Golden Goddess :)! Hopefully I have similar luck with other Christmas collections.
this reminds me that i should be using my palettes more. i’m generally lazy cos there’s too much to choose from, difficult to make such decisions so early in the morning :p

I just finished helping out in the Pharmacy Unit at my nearby hospital. The pneumatic tube has been down and everything has been a complete chaos. I am usually in the NSICU but the Pharmacy department was very short on staff due to severe weather warning. Thank goodness I only live two blocks away from the hospital. I made it home safely.
This would be an amazing gift to add to my makeup collections. The colors look extremely vibrate and there’s many colors on there that will blend in well with my skin complexion.
I can’t stand socks that hit at my ankle! And my grandmother’s engagement ring is just stunning-you look at it and just know they don’t make them like that any more. It has a large diamond, but the setting makes it look classy. i love it!!
I could REALLY go for some Trader Joe’s spinach lasagna and chicken tamales right about now!

I love all of your pictures with Tabs! It reminds me how I can’t wait to move out of my college apartment (no pets allowed) so that I can adopt a furry friend. I wasn’t sure if I was a “cat person” but I lived with a friend for a few months who has cats and they were just so loving but also sneaky!
I’m thinking if I find a boy, his name will be Rigby..but if that doesn’t fit him, we’ll find something else!

on a toal side note (which is what these comments are supposed to be..right?) I’m trying to just ignore all pictures you post of Riva. It’s gorgeous! But I don’t really really need it and I hardly wear blues..and whenever the mood does strike me I’ve got a couple that should take care of it like what’s with the cattitude and Essie Lapis of Luxury.

and also..I’m getting some new fuzzy warm socks for Christmas (exciting right?). i love fuzzy socks almost as much as mini eyeliners.

socks are ok, but only in the winter, when my feet get cold. They are also handy for working out. Gotta prevent blisters! 😀
