What a gorgeous spring day! Um…when the heck did this happen!? Did the earth suddenly tilt on its axis yesterday? I figured I would have noticed something like that, like maybe gotten a little seasick or queasy. “Whoa! Did you feel that?? Something just moved… It felt like the whole world just tilted and WOW! Would ya look at all the flowers and pretty green hills, and the birds are singing, and it’s so much warmer and sunnier now!” 🙂
Geez, I hope it’s also nice where you are, but if it’s not, the calendar says it will be soon.
This is hiking weather here today, and I think I’m gonna do that. Maybe pack a small picnic and find a nice field somewhere to eat lunch.

I am so proud to anounce that my blog is finally up and running! Please visit!
I’m not really a good swimmer, I don’t have any technique and I’m not fast, but I can swim okay. I’m not afraid to swim, and a couple of years a go I started to swim on a weekly basis because it’s the only exercise I like.
When I hear the word blush, I immediately think of NARS and NARS Orgasm specifically, even though I don’t own any NARS products and probably only two blushes! I’m not big on blush with my complexion, for some reason.
I visited a few countries, I’ve been to Belgium, England, France, Spain, India, Dubai, French Guyana and Suriname and this summer I will be visiting the U.S. (New York City, specifically) for the first time! Excited! 🙂 I’m still dying to go to Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and I also want to visit more Caribbean countries (Trinidad, Barbados) and maybe Japan and more of the U.S. I once read that travelling and seeing other cultures literally makes you more intelligent, and everybody (if able) should do it because it really broadens your (world) view/perspective.

When I think blush I think of embarrassment. I have super rosy cheeks naturally, and blush makes me look like a clown regardless of how sheer it is.
I hear “blush” and I think high color from high emotion. And a skin’s most flattering and honest shade.

When I got the notification for the chance to win a sephora gift card I smiled as I thought this might be my chance. Tomorrow is my 23-rd birthday and it would be a beautiful gift from you and a treat for myself. I have been very busy with midterms at school and I feel like I didn’t enough take care of myself lately. I have a beautiful parrot (conure), his name is Tiki, and if I would be a bird I would love to be a conure too so I could fly around with him. He loves people and loves to taste our foods too and so many times I wonder what goes in his little head…how does he see the world…how it feels for him when he falls asleep in my shoulder…he is my little baby…:):)
Unfortunately I haven’t swam in years. I was pretty good… but I just suddenly stopped going 🙁

I was in the Navy for most of my adult life, so I got to travel a lot – mostly along the coast, lol. 26 countries total! Most of them I would love to go back and spend more time. A couple of them I got to live in (Philippines for 2 years, Panama for 3). I wouldn’t trade the travel I was able to do for just about anything.
I’ve been to 8 different countries and I’m adding a ninth (Italy) this summer!

All set, ready to go…and a quick look in the car window left me horrified. I had painted on some really vibrant red cheeks. Yikes! 😉

Had a somewhat terrifying audition today. Tried out for Jean Valjean (even though I’m 27, look 18, and am woefully underweight while Valjean’s supposed to be somewhere in his 40’s and built like a brick…well…you know) but the funny thing is, I stopped caring about the part, stopped caring about the show, and began to just see it as a challenge to myself. I worked for a number of days on just expanding my range (even learned musical notation for this one) and can now proudly claim the ability to belt a G5, an A5, and a passable B flat 5. All in all, whether I get the part or not, I’ve a new piece to add to my repertoire and the knowledge that I’m growing as a singer.
If I win the prize I will probably spend it all on NARS products. Gotta love that brand! The blushes are incredible!!

Sigh. Turning 30 this coming Monday and really just want a redo. While I could totally slump in woe is me ville I have the knowledge that folks will most likely buy me gluten containing baked goods, and take me some place I don’t want to go. I should be happy about this but it just proves that many times birthdays are often about everyone but the person being celebrated. Anyway things seem okay with degree number two and needing to focus on doing the big leagues educationally. Guess it’s all more growing pains. What I do know is this the next 10 years will be what I MAKE them. I will remove the need for craptacular birthdays by being abroad during them and having perpetually nice lips and cheekbones (my favorite features) 😌

I think Revlon and Rimmel don’t get enough credit. Revlon has great lip colors — great texture, wear-time, pigmentation (some are meant to be sheer). They also have a great range of colors, though I do wish they had more violets.
Rimmel actually has some quality eye shadow. I found the ones I bought soft and finely milled. Maybe a bit of fall-out, but that’s it. Hard to argue when the cost — what? — $3?

I can’t wait for spring. It is so cold here where i live with no promise of warmer weather any time soon.
I’m a pretty good swimmer. I grew up on the coast in Southern California, so my parents took me to swimming lessons to make sure I was safe at the beach. I still love to swim in the ocean – it’s usually the first thing I do when I visit my parents (weather permitting). No lakes though, I’m afraid of flesh-eating bacteria and they always seem scummy somehow.
I’m afraid of water, so I do not know how to swim.

I’m still waiting for my crocuses to come up once the snow’s all gone. I can’t wait to see green!! We had another 9″ of snow the other day. The guys across the street made the biggest snowman I’ve ever seen. It was over 8 feet tall and they used a ladder to put it together.
I try to paint my toenails somewhat regularly (especially since I’ve been collecting polishes recently, whoops), but almost never paint my fingernails…it just looks too weird for me to see bright colors when I’m waving my hands around talking!

Don’t buy much makeup, mostly lipsticks and blushes (we are similar in skin color), and I never ventured in the drugstore realm…I know.

When someone mentions blush I always think of my mother or grandmother who would always wear way too much and as a kid I vowed to never wear blush. I was always that girl who wore bronzer. White white sun kissed skin until one day recently I was getting a complimentary makeover and the lady at the Guerlain counter insisted on putting some blush on me … grimacing inside I decided to go with it & am happy I did. Funny how it took me until almost 30 to agree to it. I guess it’s all about the application and not the type of makeup persay!

Well, I haven’t traveled much, but would like to. When I hear the word blush I am embarrassed to say the first word I thought of was more! I’ve always loved all the colors of makeup, but especially blush.

When I hear the word “blush,” I think: central. I often like to make it the dominant feature of my makeup look. Minimal eye makeup, neutral lips, and bright cheeks.
I’d love to get that gift card, maybe to get new brushes. Or a face mask. Or a new palette. Or replace my mascara. Or a new face mask. I already said that. Maybe a new bronzer? Winter hasn’t been very nice to my face. Maybe a new palette. Maybe I’d just camp at Sephora waiting to decide on what to get.

The most under-rated makeup brand is Neutrogena. Their foundations and facial skin treatments are much better than more highly rated brands.

I’m not a good swimmer, but I love to play in the water.
My most memorable picnic was when my husband surprised me on my birthday with a giant basket and took me to a secluded lake shore in Glacier National Park. He said that after 11 years of marriage, he figured it was time he did something super cheesy for me. It was perfect! 🙂

I try not to use nail polish too much because my nails are so weak and brittle that nail polish just kills my nails. They start to peel, look cracked and dry, and they break so easily. :'( I only wear nail polish for special events. And sadly, I have so many bottles of nail polish too. Haha!

Most underrated inexpensive makeup brands? So many. For eyes, I have great luck with Almay, Rimmel makes some great lip glosses, Maybelline mascaras do the trick.

I just discovered an Inglot counter near me and this stuff was awweesome, but hell if they didn’t glitter up half the shadows. I loves me some glitter, but it should be an option, not the rule. Like, make your shadows shadows, and give me a pot of glitter to slap all over everything and we’re good.

I paint my finger nails every weekend. I hate having even a little bit of chipped nail polish so I use Seche Vite top coat and base coat for long wearing manis. I do my toes every 2-3 weeks. Never a bare nail!
If I could be any kind of tree, I would be a birch tree.

Someday, I’d love to have a stone cottage overgrown with vines, and surrounded by a little fence like the one around Bag End in Lord of the Rings. I’d furnish it minimally, but I’d definitely want a clawfoot tub. And somewhere nearby, I would plant a willow tree. That is my dream home ^.^

When you say blush I think I need to get back into wearing blush. I use to love it but they never lasted long on me so I gave up on wearing them. I should try again since my skin isnt as oily as it use to be. Thanks for the giveaway!
Thank you for the giveaway. What comes to mind when someone says blush is Frivole Joues Contraste. It’s such a lovely color and it can be for a lot of different looks.
My favourite blush at the moment is The Balm Cabana Boy. It’s a lovely blush in a gorgeous flattering shade and the cheeky 50s comic-style packaging always makes me laugh!

Swimming is one of the only physical activities I do well. Water is a great equalizer.

I hope to one day be able to go anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere so I can see with my own eyes the beautiful arm of our Milky Way galaxy that’s clearly visible there in the night sky, just like I see in a lot of the pictures on my favorite phone app, Astronomy Picture of the Day (I’m an astronomy enthusiast).
