Good morning, young lady. How did you sleep? I’ve only just come downstairs from bed, and Tabs, who’s always pretty talkative and excited first thing in the morning, is zigzagging between my legs, giving me kitty hugs. It’s really quite precious.
Whoa! — I just had the coolest memory pop into my head of one of those old Folgers coffee commercials. The ones with that great jingle: “The best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cuuuuup.”
I swear, I can actually smell coffee right now after hearing a jingle! It’s fascinating.
Anywho, what’s on your plate for today? I hope you have something fun lined up. The Cargo stuff we looked at yesterday got me thinking about fun makeup and how much I appreciate when companies come up with cool themes and stories for their products.
MAC is always great about it. Their collections are so distinct and have so much personality — I LOVE that kind of thing. It’s just more fun for me than generic themes like COMPANY Z SPRING 2011 COLOR NO. 458.
I don’t know… I like it when makeup is about more than painting colors and pictures on our outsides, ya know? It can also be about painting pictures in our minds (ooh! trippy).

Yesterday I had an evening look done by a visiting Armani MA. He used the Spring 2011 collection called La Femme Bleue. Although the lipstick and blush are better suited to light to light/medium complexions, the eye shadow quad would look gorgeous on anyone who likes a bit of color. It would look stunning on you, Karen.

I love the way make up, bodycare, skincare and haircare products make me feel. I love perfume!!!!!!!!! It makes me feel very girly, and the scents are intoxicating!!! I love when I greet some of my good friends, and they tell me, how awesome I smell, or how beautiful I am. I really loved it on my wedding day, when my wedding party, wanted me to do their make up. I had to tutor them, since it was my big day. I love it, that I still have longtime friends from childhood. They are so good!!!!!! I love my massage therapist and good friend. She rocks!!!!! And, I don’t know how she does so many things in 1 day, she’s an amazing woman!!!!!!!! I love my dog and husband, and Mom and Dad, and family. My dog is so crazy, I love when summer comes to us, and my dog swims next to me, in the pool! I love when she races for her balls and fetches them out of the pool. I love going on vacation with my husband, when we could just go, and turn the rest of the world off. I love swimming in the ocean with the fish, and sea turtles and chasing the roosters around, on Kauai!!!!

My fiancé makes fun of me every time I go near makeup because I always have to swatch it on the back of my hand, so every time I go somewhere I usually have a bright colorful makeup swatch somewhere on me.
I have 2 tattoos- both are Chinese symbols 1 for angel and 1 for good luck and happiness. I always joke however whenever anyone asks what it means as I truly don’t know if these are the words as I don’t know Chinese calligraphy- that it means wonton soup and eggrolls. All I need is the rest of my regular order!
I’ve loved cargo from way back when. I was really bummed when they left sephora, but glad they are still around at ulta. The spring safarai collection looks awesome. Ahhhh, the weekend. I really need this weekend!! It’s been an interesting week. As in, Chinese-curse “interesting”.
When I need to unwind, I put on my headphones and go for a walk. I live near a nice walking trail – in one direction, it goes past a pond that’s “home” to ducks, some Canadian geese, and some herons (and at the end of that leg of the trail is a coffee shop. How convenient!!)
Just got back from Trader Joe’s. Now there’s nothing else I HAVE to do for the rest of the weekend.

My kitty, Angel, is turning 15 (in human years) this year!
I went to a big department store today to have a look at the make up counters. Just about managed to reign myself in but it was fun to actually see some of the products I’ve read about on here.
I don’t have any tattoos, my grandmother recently passed at I am tempted to get a tattoo in memory of her of a zinnia flower. It was a connection we shared. However i think I can still uphold her memory without a tattoo so that idea is pending.
I recently picked up one of the new Burts Bees tinted lip balms (in red dahlia) and LOVE it! It goes on super-smooth, feels great, has a reasonable half life, a tint of color and is NON-MINTY! It really reminds me of the (MUCH more pricey) Fresh lipbalms, but I can’t say it’s a dupe for sure b/c I don’t own a Fresh product.

I just found NYX Doll Eyes Mascara and I think I am in love. It make my lashes long and lush and it doesn’t flake (it’s not waterproof)! OMG!

Grocery shopping is not relaxing, but I still got it done. Stocked up on wet food the kitty (yay!) and picked up some beauty bits. Got the new Wet n Wild MegaLash Clinical Serum, which I can’t wait to try, SH Maximum Growth for cheap (seems to be working on my nails & Ji Baek recommended it), 11 new polishes for all for under $20 (although the mini Orly was overpriced, but it was the Xmas green & I had to have it), and Orajel for making tweezing less ouchy. I also got a Revlon lipstick & one of their new glosses, both in shades of pink, but I tried them in the car & returned them in about 5 minutes. Colors were bad on me, the quality was meh, and the prices were yikes.

I baked 3 loaves of whole wheat bread last night so I’m feeling pretty proud. Now I just need to stick to my commitment to work out today and I’ll be flying high.
We just adopted a kitten that my husband found at work. Bartowski (after the show Chuck) now makes our fourth (I know… geesh!!), and he loves watching (and often pawing at) the computer screen. He especially loves when I come here. He meows wildly at Tabs. I think he just might be Tabs’s biggest fan!
My best friedn is in Thiland nad e-mailing every other day to tell me all about the beautiful sigts and delicious food! I wish I was there with him!!
I really want to take a vacation!!!! But currently still saving up for it!

It was 5 degrees here last night, so I slipped on flannel pjs, wrapped myself in blankets, made some coconut ginger rooibos tea, and watched Asian beauty shows. <3
haha I just went to Sephora yesterday! I went shopping with my boyfriend and he says Sephora is like my mecca and it’s true, I have to make a pilgrimage there at least every other week or once a month XD I finally got to try Laura Mercier’s Oil-Free tinted moisturizer on one side of my face and Nars Sheer Glow on the other, and I love how the tinted moisturizer gives me a much more matte finish than oiliness with Nars Sheer Glow after only an hour! I also found a good shade of red for my lips in the form of Korres Lip Glaze in Wild Rose. Overall, a productive trip! haha
Yay! I love Sephora! Going to Sally’s after work to check out a new Argan Oil styling gel. I hope it smells good.
Ah Cargo… j’adore. Once made my husband drive our rental car around for 30 minutes while I ran into The Bay in Vancouver so I could hit the Cargo counter and stock up. Shhh… don’t tell customs.

My sister and I have a star behind our ears in honor of our great uncle, I have a four-leaf clover on my shoulder blade in honor of my great aunt, angles wings on my foot in honor of my grandparents, an Aries symbol on my ankle, and 3 cosmos flowers on my other foot (they’re the flower of October and I was married 10/3).

I just tried Urban Decay’s Naked Palette last night! I was really excited because my boyfriend gifted it to me for Christmas and I hadn’t seen him until I flew in last Tuesday 🙂

i just got my first MAC eyeshadow pallet with 4 colors and it’s the best purchase i ever made! everyone should look into it!
So I said previously that I broke my ankle. With not much to do, I’ve been looking at some of the colors in the bruising and trying to figure out how to get that blending for eyeshadows. Either I get inspiration everywhere or I took too much pain medication.
I just found my favorite discontinued MAC shadow, Signed Sealed (Matte2), online and ordered 3! It’s a good day 😀

Lately I’ve really been lemming the Smashbox In Bloom palette. The colors aren’t even my usual taste (a little too muted) and don’t seem incredibly unique, but I want it so bad for some reason! Spent half a day at work and half a day with my boyfriend and parents. It was really nice. I am finishing school away from my family, so I love the visits! Hope your Saturday was great.

Dang I woke up this morning and immediately had a headache…so much for sunday!
I had a horrible weekend. I planned to go on an internship in California, and I was also planning on buying some stuff at sephora (such as Nars Orgasm, And Bobbi Brown Corrector) as we don’t have it anywhere near here in the Netherlands. But as it turned out, my intership was cancelled and now I am really upset.
Currently using Stila’s version, but I’m dying to try the gel liner from Bobbi Brown!
I’ve seen so many youtube gurus use it, so I might give it a test drive soon :).
BB gel liners are my faves :), they have such a great range of very wearable shades. I tried the Stila ones when they first came out and was a bit disappointed about their texture which seemed quite dry from the start. But couple of months ago I tried Stila’s liners again and they must have done something to the formula, because now they are very very creamy but still pigmented.
I just got the blush in Espiegle, eyeshadows in ombrees perlees de chanel and lipstick in peregrine from the new chanel spring 2011 collection and I am in love!!!!
Can’t wait to see what else this spring has to offer, I am craving that cute blush from lancome 🙂

Dear World, I recommend trying the $3 ELF Studio blush and bronzer duo. It’s truly amazing! I’m ultra fair and adore this thing (though that doesn’t stop me from lusting after Too Faced’s Peach Leopard bronzer).

I just recently got the mufe mat velvet!
I got Sephora in a box for Christmas last year (2010) and I still haven’t used every shade in this palette collection. I love it. It has turned me onto so many new looks.
I have 3 tattoos now. I’m think I’m going to get another soon. But I heard it was bad luck to have an even number of tattoos so maybe I’ll be getting 2 more.
I have a friend with a birthday in a few weeks. I was thinking about going to sephora and picking up a few things for her.

I definitely like shopping on the Sephora website more than I do in-store if I already know what I want. In the stores, the employees follow you around like….it’s like they’re dogs and you have a biscuit in your pocket. It’s quite annoying. ‘Do you need help with anything?’ ‘No thank you, I’m just browsing.’…..5 minutes later…..”Did you need help with that?”
