I hope your weekend got off to a good start. It’s a little foggy out here today, both literally and figuratively. I see fog outside my window and feel foggy in the head, but it’s nothing a little coffee can’t cure.
What’s on your agenda for today? Doing anything fun? Right now I’m just getting ready to drive out to the East Bay for my friend Jen’s baby shower. That should be fun. Tabs is going to stay here at the office, though, and hold down the fort.
Other than that, nothing new to report. I did see Cowboys & Aliens last night, but I didn’t think it was as good as I thought it would be… Shirtless Daniel Craig, however, was exceptional. Truly top notch. If they make a sequel, they should just call it Shirtless Cowboy & Aliens and cut right to the chase, yeehaw!

Beutiful day in Michigan. About time that the humidity came down some so that breathing is easier.
One of my best friends for the longest time actually lived on a ranch with 14 horses! Only three of them were rideable though, and I did ride one of them. One of them even foaled! We waited up all night for days waiting for it to happen and then one morning we went into the stable and she had already foaled! So cute though, those wobbly little steps and knobby little knees.
I don’t buy the white big-eyed alien stuff, but there is no doubt in my mind that there are many other life forms in this universe. But I am pretty sure this world would be the only one sporting a shirtless Daniel Craig 😉

Yes, I have ridden a horse. When I was 10, I went to a birthday party at a horse farm and we all got to ride our own horse through the woods around the property. My horse was named Mouse and he wouldn’t go faster than walking for anything, so he & I were stuck at the back of the line with 3 adults keeping an eye on us. I was so embarrassed, but it was still really fun.
I think my sister-in-law believes we descended from aliens.
My husband is all for Aliens. He did a bunch of research and would make me watch them. I do not believe in them, but I support him 🙂

Having grown up in West Texas, I have dated cowboys. However, most of them don’t fit the strong/silent stereotype. Most of them look & act more like the anonymous redneck cattle rustlers than D Craig. Not to say there aren’t some gems among them, of course.

Real cowboys fall into two camps: courtly gentlemen (yay!) and dirty hicks (boo!). I’m from Deep East Texas and I’m speaking from experience, not cliche or hearsay. The courtly gentlemen kind are the best men on the Earth: strong, gentle, kind, mannerly, committed to family, secretly romantic and deeply passionate. The other kind should be avoided unless you’re fond of accidentally drinking tobacco spit.
I remember people would joke about a movie being made about cowboys and aliens. Then I saw the commercial for the first time when I went to see HP pt. 1! lol

i think our universe is so vast there is probably life.
I’ve been doing absolutely nothing today (well, besides cooking lunch), which has been bliss since I’ve been about to go stir-crazy from all of this packing!
Today I’m wearing very different makeup than usual. I usually have a natural, matte eye sometimes with a bit of shimmer, peachy blush, and tinted tip gloss. Today, I used the updated, different version of Urban Decay Primer Potion (the tan one) as a cream eyeshadow on my lids. It is very shimmery and I’m not sure if I like it. I think it may look a little alien-like on my warm undertones (and that’s a good connection to aliens in this comment!). It is really shimmery. And it’s lasted a long time, so that’s good. I’m just not sure if I like it.
I’m pleased to say that I’m going to the beach today!
Going food shopping right away, that’s it for me today. I need to get some new ideas for supper-seem to be getting bored with cooking lately.

So I’m sitting here typing this with my dog Mindy (who really wants me to win this lol) and I thought I’d share a story about a horse. I one time fell off the horse I was riding (it was evil) and it chased me until I ran in the barn. Thus, I do not like horses.
So, today is my first free weekend in a few months, and I decided not to put any makeup at all, and give my face a home spa, so I first washed it (Lush Coalface), then exfoliated (Freeman apricot face scrub), then put a facial mask (Avon Planet Spa Dead Sea Mineral cleansing mask), and finally, my husband (isn’t he the BEST?) agreed to give me face massage with Avon Lavender and Jasmine face oil. Now, I feel like I was born again… my skin is soooo clean and soft and pampered…
And it would be really amazing if I won Sephora gift card.. I could finally order that Sigma F80 I long for…

Hm..), I do believe in unknown species but not green-men-from-mars and my makeup today (at work) was very basic; mineral foundation (Mineral Hygenics), blush (Inglot), mascara (Max Factor) and brow powder (H&M). Oh, and I’ve ridden a horse once! I was about 7, the speed was superdupermega LOW and it wasn’t that fantastic, actually. I’m girlish in many ways, but when it comes to horses I’m such a dude: To me horses just are huge, smelly and overly expensive..

One morning we got up before sunrise and rode 2 horses out into the wide open spaces of Yellowstone where we watched the sun come up; we also saw a grizzly bear. Great memory! Thanks for making me think back to that day.

I used to ride horses every single summer when I was a girlscout! It was absolutely my favorite thing to do and I still miss it so much.
I’ve been riding horses since I was 7 years old. I’ve had my horse Mayan now for about 6 years and I’m finally moving into our new house where I can have my horse in my backyard. We do jumpers and are currently jumping about 3’6″.

Oh boy, I can tell you about a time that a guy wanted to take me horseback riding and asked me if I’d ever been, I said yes (and that was true but only 2 times before) and he put me on a Arabian horse. If you know Arabian Horses they are very smart, as soon as I got on he took off like the wind and I had no control! half a mile later I finally got him to stop! Never so shook up in all my life! lol

Not a fan of horses. When I lived in St. Croix a wild horse ran down the outside corridor at school, scared me to death. No makeup today it was stupid hot. And if you don’t believe there are other life forms aka aliens in the universe, then to bad. Lol I do.
I actually played with my makeup today – I tried to follow your tutorial for Outremer using Daphne instead and, oh my, Daphne is SUCH a difficult shadow to work with – ugh, ugh, ugh. Spent 30 minutes on ONE eye and finally gave up *blows raspberries*

Today I went with a colorful smokey eye 😉 Benefit’s Fancy Pansy on my lid with Urban’s Perversion in my crease. A classic liquid eyeliner (Smashbox’s black pen liner) witha perfect flick of a cateye. Finished with the only mascara I’ve ever RAVED about…Benefit’s They’re Real! If I could take one cosmetic with me on a deserted island, uh huh, that mascara, hands down!! Put this look on early this morning for work but was thinking of you Karen since I felt a lil overdressed for Target this evening..lol 😉

I can’t decide if I want to see this film or not. A film I did see today and highly recommend to everyone is “Sarah’s Key.” Yes, it’s about a disturbing and depressing subject (the Vel’ d’Hiv Roundup), but it’s beautifully filmed and sensitively acted. I didn’t read the book, so I can’t say if it follows it closely, but I do think most people would enjoy it. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great Saturday!

I’d love to learn to horseback ride someday. When I was younger, I went on one of those supervised horse walks, which didn’t turn out to be a walk at all. The calm horse got excited when it was my turn and started galloping mid-way instead of an easy trot, which freaked me OUT! I want to learn so I don’t look like a fool if that ever happens again :P.
Today I wore a Bare Minerals Bronzer, I forgot the name, with a rose Revlon Blush. I found this really cute set of eyeshadows from H&M which I wore as well (they were bronzey with hints of pink and orange). My mascara was Too Faced Lash Injection… The most expensive mascara I’ve ever purchased, but it’s so worth it… For lipstick, lately I’ve been using MAC “Pretty Please” but I recently bought a Revlon lipstick “Blaised Apricot” which is really nice and has a coral tone to it. Lately I’ve been really into makeup and getting the right tools and learning as much as I can.. I love makeup haha.

today i spent some amazing quality time with my two beautiful babies and my fiance’
No cowboys for me; but if my hubby had the chance, he’d become a cowboy in a heart beat.
I did an eyeshadow look I normally don’t wear. I was playing around with colors. I practiced putting on blush in different ways. xD I looked like a freak a deak. I had no foundation, no mascara, only eyeshadow and blush.
Even though it’s the weekend, I feel more tired than ever, arggh. I need more R & R I guess. A week-long weekend sounds very enticing, lol 🙂

I bought Maybelline Superstay 24 lip color today. I like it! A little dry, it it lasts a pretty long time.
I dated a guy my best friend referred to as “the Marlboro Man.” He wasn’t cowboy per se, but he gave the appearance of being a pretty rough-and-tumble kind of dude and was a professional lumberjack to boot. Dating him was cool and different for a while (nerdy guys are more of my type), but MAN was he whiny! He once lectured me on the importance of fabric softener and how “keeping a constant supply for others’ convenience” was the “polite” thing to do. To me, real tough guys don’t sweat the small stuff :).
For today, I have a 1100 km trip ahead…. vacation is over!

I believe in going to football games and wearing any makeup look, doesn’t have to reflect the team colors at all!!!

I read an article where Harrison Ford and the costume designer were talking about the hat Harrison Ford was going to wear. I love reading that thought process, everything that goes into choosing a gray hat over a brown, white, or black one in order to bring a character to life down the smallest detail. All those small details add up into a multidimensional character.
I read a few reviews on Cowboys & Aliens and decided not to watch the movie after all. Captain America, on the other hand, was awesome!

Yes I believe in aliens! There are hundreds of millions of stars in this universe! Not to mention that most of our biological chemistry is literally the same as the stars. Everything is made out of stardust. I think that the universe is inherently abundant in creating life. We are specks of dust in comparison to its size. There is definite proof of the probability of life elsewhere in space.
I’m not sure if I believe in aliens but it seems unreasonable that we can be the only living beings in this entire universe. If we do ever encounter aliens, I hope they’re friendly and not of the ‘Mars Attacks!’ variety 🙂
Hmm, I’ve yet to see the Cowboys Vs. Aliens preview, it always pops up on Youtube. Maybe I should take a look at it.
