One of the most valuable things I’ll take away from my time here at BlogHer is a motivational trick I actually learned at the San Francisco International Airport on the way here. It’s a great way to get yourself to do things you might otherwise not want to do. In my case, they might be things like getting up early on a Saturday morning, going for a run, doing laundry, vacuuming the stairs or cleaning the kitchen.
In practice, it works a little something like this: “If I get out of bed by 6:30 this morning, I can have a Pink Berry.” Or, another variation, equally effective: “If I clean the toilet today, I can have a Pink Berry tonight.”
It’s surprisingly effective. 🙂

On an unrelated note, though I have to say this- I love love love love love Uniqlo! Every single time I go there, there has to be something- most of the time it’s bra tops (Absolute love), but sometimes it’s a jacket, well-cut jeans leggings (That is really sewn like jeans and not printed on) or jeans trousers, dresses (Love my Uniqlo X Zechia dress) and today, a printed maxi skirt.
Hi Karen, whenever I travel, I always make sure that I have a lip & cheek tint with me. Promise, even if you dont have 5 min for touch-ups, it would just take you seconds to apply and you would look gloriously better on photos! A big must-have for school and travel : D

Had my first makeup class today. It was pretty much the basic stuff, it turned out a lot difficult than I imagine working on other people’s face!

I’ve been to three conferences, and they were all geeky! Inwent to Anime Expo, to Star Wars Celebration 4 in L.A. and to San Diego Comic Con. Had a wonderful time at all three! Also, I tried the Josie Maran Aryan oil hair treatment and it was absolutely fantastic!

What is BlogHer? I heard about it all over Twitter but don’t know logistics..like where it is, what it’s about.
It is winter here, but I live in Sao Paulo, Brazil, so winter sometimes gets as hot as summer and, the next day, is back being cold again. It’s a bizarre weather. Here you must always carry an umbrella, a coat and some shorts, in case the weather changes. 🙂

I took classes in Spain then vacationed in Greece this summer. It was incredible; a once in a lifetime experience! My best travel beauty tip would be: Don’t forget spf for your lips!! I was good to go with Dr. Lewinn for Kinerase 3D Lip Sculpt (Spf 20), while all my friends were complaining of chapped and sunburned lips.

I am madly in love with my MAC Dashing Lassies palette from last Christmas. It’s the best makeup purchase I have ever made. 8 months in and I still use it at least 3 times a week. So glad I got a backup. MAC, make more palettes like this. PLEASE!

Almost 8 years ago I did attend a conference that changed my life….little did I know that the cute boy I met the first night of a 5 day conference would be my husband less than two years later.
I’ve attended conferences as a presenter, which can be quite stressful. I’ve also been a volunteer at conferences too, that’s a easier on the nerves but the T-shirts are usually eye-searingly ugly so attendees can pick you out from a mile away. Think neon green or high-lighter yellow. Yeah. I still have the shirts kicking around for wearing on laundry days. 😉

Last month my husband’s brother, his wife and their adorable baby son came to visit us for a week. (They live in Arizona and we live in NY state, so we hardly ever get to see them.) It was amazing. 🙂

i have gone to a conference while i was in college… at the time the perks were missing school, free food and flying to a new city!!!
Use a lip palette to take various lip colors. It saves space and is lighter than carrying 6 tubes. Mine’s Japonesque from Ulta.
Lately I’ve been OBSESSED with finding the perfect all-over-lid shade. Nothing too cool, nothing to warm, nothing to light, nothing to dark. $50 at Sephora with definitely give me the perfect way to find my dream lid color!
I read Sam’s review of MUFE concealer and now I need some… sadly, that means I have to drive 8 hours to Illinois to find a Sephora store and get shade matched. On the plus side, my parents live 20 minutes from it. 🙂

Hi all! Since this is a “Sephora” contest Iwant to tell you about my 2 favourite products from Sephora. First is a lipstick that I am not leaving the house with it on my lips: Sephora Lip Attitude – Glamour, a hydrating, semi-sheer lipstick. It’s long lasting and offers moisture for an incredible long period. Moreover, the smell is fruitty…which might be a problem for those who eat their lipstick because it smells too nice. From this I ave right now: Pink Caress 05 ,Tender Rose 04 , Sentimental Rose 10 and my favourite color: Mauve Emotion 09. It’s my fav color because it suits to my complexion. Cold, mauvish colors suit best my skin color. Second product is the sephora Mineral loose powder foundation that is fabulous! It doesn’t have parfum, parabens, no allergene and is non comedogenic. It even has hydrating ingredients. Which I consider very important. For the price I paidon it , it rocks! Looks so natural and light and covers perfectly!

I like to wear a melon and cucumber mask while i’m ironing. This way, I am multi-tasking and giving myself something that is enjoyable at the same time; as well as making my skin look good!
The highlight of my summer? My 10 year old son had a bone marrow transplant in May and it was a great success!

Beauty travel tip: Jojoba oil serves as a great multi-purpose product. I use it like a serum to moisturize the skin, as an eye-makeup remover, and to de-frizz my curls/waves.
I feel very sleepy because I only slept for 3 hours. Now I’m too tired to sleep.

Best travel beauty tip? being a person who haaates traveling with lot of baggage I always carry one suitcase and a crossed handbag, I would say my best tip would be travel wipes and compact make up, I have oily skin so this is the only way to control shine plus you can use the wipes for everything!
My favourite summer moment so far was right after Canada day (July 1). My friends and I had a mini reunion for a friends birthday. It was at his parents house at the beach. We had a beach fire and at s’mores <3

I´ve only attended conferences about child sexual abuse, mainly because I work with adult survivors as a, as I like to call it, “guider”. guiding them through their healing process. I´m not a professional counselor but I use my own experience with child sexual abuse and my healing journey to help others. It´s the most rewarding “job” I´ve ever had. I love going to conferences, learning more so that I can be better at my job and also meeting people that work in the same field.
I finally found the wnw Gilded Age trio that everyone’s been talking about. I wasn’t even looking for it. But since it was the last one in the display I had to get it.

My fave scented lipgloss is Too Faced Glamour Gloss–the scent is subtle but lovely, and the plumping agents don’t bother my lips after an hour or two like most do.

My travel tip is to find a store (ex: Target) and get a little clear travel bottle set, it’s great to fill/pack your favorites & everyday beauty items (shampoo, lotion, moisturizer, etc.). The sizes of the little containers usually meet the airline guidelines/restrictions, and that way you can bring all the things you love to use most, and all products are visible to know what is what!
My best travel beauty tip is that natural is the best. Heavy makeup can be a hassle when traveling

Today I went to a birthday party for a family friend whom I am no longer that close with and I felt so awkward cause I hadn’t seen everyone in so long. I was out of my comfort zone cause my family was sitting at a different table from me so I didn’t really have anyone to talk to. It was kind of uncomfortable at the beginning but soon things got a lot better and I left at the end of the night laughing and pretty much had a good time! Sometimes it’s good to be out of your comfort zone lol. Especially when I got reaquainted with one of my close girl friends from a while back and discovered that she’s an avid makeup collector as well 😀
Here’s a great airplane travel beauty tip: Buf-Puf singles! I love them and use them all the time, but they are perfect for travel since they are basically a little sponge (great for scrubbing off airport grime or sightseeing sweat!) and are covered with a very mild soap, activated in water, so it doesn’t count as a liquid! Bonus:Put them in a baggie, squash them flat and seal it- they take up practically no room and are light as a feather!

I remember the only conference I’ve attended was one back in 8th grade for leadership. A bunch of leadership classes from all different schools in the area came together and brainstormed ideas of what we could do. It was a blast, I had so much fun!

My travel beauty tip is solid body lotion, shampoo and conditioner! I get the massage bars from Lush and the shampoo and conditioner from Fortune Cookie soaps. It saves space since you don’t have to claim it.

The highlight of my summer so far has definitely been my month-long (too short still) trip to China to visit relatives. In the scorching summer heat, however, I didn’t wear that much makeup at all, so my advice for traveling would be to pack lightly! You can always buy more at your destination. :]

My beauty tip for traveling is to have a great powder to freshen my face before I land a good gloss to look fresh when I arrive to my destination!
I had to get a root canal done 2 weeks ago and I got sick at the same time. It is two weeks later and I am still sick and the worst part is that the temporary crown I got put in keeps cutting my tongue. Have to feel better soon because kids start school in 3 weeks and I have to finish back to school shopping!!!!!
You know, I’ve yet to find a flavored lip gloss that I can handle the taste of, but that’s probably for the better because then I would want to lick it all off, heehee :-).

I gotta try your reward system to get motivated! My beauty travel tip is to ask for sample sizes of your favorite beauty product, especially skin care, when you purchase them. That way, when you travel you can just take the sample packs instead of a whole bottle/jar, or go through the hassle of bottling them in separate containers.
I just ate an enormous amount of almonds. I’m talking biblical proportions.

I’ve had two highlights this summer and they’ve been big ones! First I finally got around to getting my drivers license after putting it off for wayyyy too long! And second I got my first real job at P.F. Chang’s! It’s totally amazing to have freedom and money:)
