So how was your Thanksgiving, young lady? Lots of good food and conversation, I hope.
Ours was an overeaters’s paradise punctuated by mounds of turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, with gravy cascading down it all like a waterfall of YUM! It was a magic carpet ride down a tryptophan dream piloted by my mother-in-law, and she did a delicious job. I’ll be recovering from, and trying to work off, the calories for weeks.

My favorite beauty tool is a barrel brush hair dryer from Wigo with a retractable brush — gives my fine hair volume and never tangles. Works equally well on my mother’s super-thick hair.
Just yesterday I bought The Balm – Hot Mama and Elizabeth Arden brown gel eyeliner really cheap and that made my week 🙂

Black Friday shopping. Crazy! I woke up at 3am to be at Target at 4am. The line went around the building, there were so many people there!

The best brush I ever bought was an eyeshadow bursh from covergirl. It was cheap and I still use it constantly. But new brushes definitely are worth trying.

I had a very un-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving meal! My family doesn’t like turkey (I, on the otherhand, can ravage one easily!) so they opted for a BBQ meal of a plethora of different meats – just not turkey. My all time favorite brush was the one I bought from Avon a few years ago. It was a simple blender brush by Mark. and sooo affordable. It was one of my first makeup brushes and it made such a drastic change to my makeup experience. I went black friday shopping for the first time in my life this AM – we had a bout of bad weather and it was the first time I left the house in 3 days, much to my relief. I had a great time, but no place I went was crowded and the staff were mostly chipper considering the early wakeup. I spent $200 at petsmart cause yeah, I am deeply committed to being a crazy cat lady.
My HG eye shadow brush is the Shu Uemura angled natural 8hr. It costs a leg but it is PERFECT to blend the shadows and the bristles are so soft. I love it more than the Mac ones.

I have a new love of my life (aka a cat) named Michelob. He is four months old and suffers from severe seperation anxiety – he has peed in my shoes and constantly suckles my clothing. Did you ever experience anything like this and, if so, how did you get your little one(s) over it?
🙁 My dog chews on my comforter, but he doesn’t have any separation anxiety. Although I do think he is slightly slow……

Oh, I have to tell someone this. We officially have the strangest cat in the world! Snowy sat on our bed while the turkey was cooking, totally uninterested, and eventually came down and meowed for food. Expecting this, we happily made her a little plate of well-minced, fresh-roasted turkey (the stuff her parents ate like pigs) and put it down at her feet. “Happy Thanksgiving,” right?! Wrong. Snowy licked the gravy off, and then walked away, now she’s meowing like we’re starving her to death. Whatever…I give up.
My magic trick:
To keep your face from looking like a Panda. 1.Swipe a Q-tip along your water line to get rid of access moisture. 2. Then use your eyeliner of choice 3. followed by an eyeshadow of the same color to set it. And PRESTO! Your eyeliner won’t run! 🙂

Just watched “How to train your dragon” and it was adorable! The main dragon was like a big cat, too cute.

I was digging through an old stash of make up I had the other day, and found a Hello Kitty for MAC lipglass! I had been searching for it for the longest time…
I just got the 120 palette from ebay in the mail today.
Not sure how good the staying power is, yet but there are some gorgeous, pigmented colours in there! And for less than $20! I’m very excited to play around with it. 🙂
Also, my kitten (who is also a tabby.) has decided to come cuddle, making it rather difficult to see the computer, and also to hear anything, as she’s purring loudly. She says hello to Tabs. 🙂 I think she may have a wee bit of a crush. 😉

I have finally gotten over my aversion to plaid… I used to be a highland dancer for about 7 yrs, and so anytime i saw a “punk” girl in a plaid skirt i wanted to scream. Now I love plaid, especially in the form-fitting purple and blue flannel button up kind 🙂
Your Thanksgiving sounds lovely! In addition to a turkey and some mixed vegetables, we had a whole lot of Chinese dishes. Not very traditional, but tasty nonetheless. 🙂
Having spent all my childhood in New Zealand (and now living in Kuwait) I’ve never celebrated Thanksgiving! But I just love watching Thanksgiving scenes in movies, with the Chicken, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc.. Hopefully one of these days, I’ll be able to celebrate it. Just looks like an awesome family orientated holiday! Fingers crossed I’m in the US for one Thanksgiving at least 🙂
i love MAC brushes 🙂 but since i’m a student and i have limited budget, i’ll have to be satisfied with my coastal scents brushes. not that they are bad quality, though. i just wish i have more MAC brushes :p

I did my elder sister’s makeup for prom today.. its a smoky brown eye look. :o) I like it. But the chanel eyeshadow I put on her had a lot of fallout, which made me really, really frustrated. -.- GOD. LM primer doesn’t work wonders!

I’ve been in “read only” mode so far (for like… almost a year I guess), but I thought it would be high time I started commenting :). I’m from Hungary and I’m a university student with a way too low budget, so I follow your blog for the looks and make-up tricks (and occasionally to drool over stuff which I can’t get hold of here or which I can’t afford :D)…
And about plaid… I like plaid, but I’m not a big fan of it-I like striped and polka dot patterns better… although I do love plaid in cowgirl-style blouses and those cute little “school uniform” type of skirts :).
I’m in love with the packaging! It makes me wanna go to England and go to a private school to put on an school uniform.
I worked the bar at a club for the first time today from 10pm to 4am and only came home with 44$.. (bartenders usually make about 200-300$)
everyone got too fat from Thanksgiving that no one came out to play. 🙁

The Duo Fiber Brush is the black/white brush with the flat top, right? I have the regular sized version of that brush, and I use it to apply cream blush. I think that’s my favorite brush right now.

my new best friend is the eye liner brush. for either gel liner for a dramatic cat eye or to blend a pencil line so it’s not so harsh
I think these brushes look amazing – it would be my first set of MAC brushes ~ I am in the hair world and thought you might like the new Feather Hair Extensions – that are sweeping the nation by storm!!! They are skinny feathers that are installed in your hair and can last up to 3 months. You can curl, style and wash them…as you would your normal hair. I try to use every last bit of a product. I use a makeup brush to get the last of a lipstick that can no longer be applied as normal because there isn’t much left. If I spend money on it..I will try and use it ALL! 🙂

i have a birthmark on my foot that changes color depending on the temperature. it’s no good for predicting the weather, but if i’m ever in doubt about how cold or hot i am, i can just look down at my toes for confirmation!

My dishwasher has been running almost continuously since early Thursday morning. I feel like I am single-handedly depleting California’s water table! It was worth it, though: delish dinner on turkey day and a fridge full of leftovers are making me a happy girl!

My favorite makeup brush is the MAC 224 its very versatile and fluffy 😀
Here is a simple trick since all you need is a coin (it mainly works on little kids and stupid adults/teens): Sit at a table and tell your “audience” to hand you a coin, any coin. Let your audience know that you will be rubbing the coin on your elbow to make it disappear. Rub the coin on your left elbow. Drop the coin on the table, letting your audience know that it doesn’t seem to be working well with that elbow, so you will try rubbing it on your other elbow. Pick the coin up with your right hand and pretend to place it in your left hand. Put your right hand (with the coin) up by your ear and rub your left hand (that is supposed to be holding the coin, according to your audience) on your elbow. Then go up to an audience member and pretend that the coin came out of their ear.
The 219 brush as been on the top of my brush wishlist for a while now and I have been wanting the angled brush too!!

Now that I live in Australia, I’ve been finding that makeup here is so much more expensive. I didn’t realize how great the prices are back in the States. With that said, I’ve definitely been eyeing this new collection whenever I walk into Myer or David Jones.
I think you should definitely look into KIT; it’s a local makeup company here and they sell a lot of different brands. It’s a smaller scale Sephora. Mecca Cosmetica has been fun to peruse too.
