I’ve never hit the pan with powder blush but I am running low on my favorite benetints!
I used to have this pre-conceived notion that blush was for old ladies. Don’t ask where that came from! However, recently I dropped by to see my lovely friend who works at MAC to ask about the semi precious collection and I told her I wanted to try blush. Lo and behold the holy angels sang! I was hooked. Definitely a staple in my makeup collection now 🙂

I have pale skin, and the my red undertones stand out alot. Even when I don’t wear blush, my friends say it looks like I’m wearing way too much. For this reason, I’ve never really worn blush until about a year ago. I’m just a teenager, so a lot of the time I get stuff from the drugstore. I picked up a $5 blush for the heck of it… and I’ve been in love with blushes ever since! They cover my red cheeks and only show a beautiful pink glow. Wearing blush makes me feel SO much more confident and it would rock if I could get an actually god quality blush from this contest.

xD My first first first blush was this ANCIENT revlon powder blush. I bought it at a garage sale when I was…13? I wore way too much and it was awful (some berryish shade.) Turns out it was really old – I applied it on my sister (9 at the time) and she got a really bad rash. True facts.
I have kind of a sick obsession with blush and have many of the nars blushes in both powder and creme so I really haven’t had enough days and faces of makeup to hit pan on any!
I hit pan on a couple of drugstore blushes when I was younger (and they were the only ones I had). Now I have way too many to ever hit pan!

As for techniques – I love to use my 187 brush to tap and then blend blush on the apples of my cheeks. The 187 applies so well and it looks uber natural.
Another great product from MAC! Love their blushes, especially the bright pinks! This one looks really pretty 🙂

I have never hit pan on any of my blushes…mainly because I only just started getting into blushes this year. It’s weird. I’m 21 and been wearing makeup for about 6 years, but I was never into blush until today
So, I’m kinda permanently blushing. Everything embarrases me! But at least with blusher, I can make it look deliberate 😉

I just got a really great drugstore blush the other day: Milani baked blush in Luminoso. I actually have 3 of the Milani baked blushes now, and they’re all very nice!

My favorite blush is Desert Rose by MAC. It’s the most beautiful dark rose color that I usually apply using a duo-fiber brush because the pigment packs a punch! You really must try it if you get the chance to!(:

The only blush I’ve ever hit pan on is… MAC’s Blushbaby! Haha! I just hit pan on my beloved HG Blushbaby last week! I apply my blush with Nars’ #21 Ita brush and sweep it along my cheeks at an angle. Paired with Blushbaby it’s perfect because it gives me a blush/ contour effect with just one color.
I’ve never hit pan on a blush yet. I gravitate towards orange, peaches and corals when it comes to blushes so I end up with a ton of blush that’s basically the same color on my cheeks. I’d love to try this color just to break my orange habit!

The best method to apply blush was learned from you, Ms. K! I take the blush onto my 129 and “bounce” the powder onto the apples of my cheeks. Works wonders and wayy better than my previous method. 🙂

I use EcoTools brushes to apply my blush. I just got the angled blush brush and I’m surprised at how much I love it. I’d never used an angled brush to apply my blush before, but I keep reaching for that one and neglecting my other blush brush. It’s so soft and it applies very nicely.
This one is on the top of my whislist! I started using bluses only two months ago, so I did not hit any pan yet. 😉

I don’t think I’ve ever hit pan on any blushes, but I have on two bronzers – Snow Bunny by Too Faced and Smashbox’s Fusion Soft Lights.
I have never hit bottom of a blush but that’s cuz I have soooo many. I love blush!

My mac confession is that yesterday after swearing that I wouldn’t buy any more makeup (way to make a promise I can’t keep) I saw vex eye shadow and fell in love with it. I bought it in the pan and didn’t get a bag so that I could hide it from the people I was with so they thought I was sticking to my make up ban! I also tested blushbaby and it’s gorgeous. Hope I win!

The first blush I ever wore was by Clinique – my mother took me to the Clinique counter of our local Macy’s to buy me my first makeup when I was 13, so needless to say that pan is long gone! I haven’t worn blush since then because I always thought I was naturally flushed enough – until last week I was introduced to Blushbaby at my local MAC! I LOVE this color – it’s very natural and sheer but builds beautifully. I’d love to have a back-up pan in case I lose mine!
Oh this is so pretty! I’ve hit pan on Estee Lauder’s blush all day in “mocha rose”. Since my skin is so pale i use just a little bit and use it more like a pinkish contour {if that makes sense}.
I usually use my fingers when it comes to applying a cream blush (unless it’s a stick blush), a fan brush if it’s powder. Right now my favorite is the Limited Edition Gradient Blush from Clinique in Black Honey.

Honey, I NEED a good, go-to blush. Especially one that works on the brown girl, skin. It seems that whenever I go to the makeup counter and look at the blush, I am attracted to really, really, really frosty shades. Frosty shades that make people ask me if I’ve been crafting, or using glitter in any way. Maybe this one will hit my inner Ctrl-Alt-Del and get me started on a new path. LOL!

I’ve never panned a blush but panned many a bronzer liberally abused as a blush. Bronzer was my gateway to blush-dom. I’m like twenty blushes deep. I never got blushes before as they wouldn’t show up on me or they’d be way way too bright; then I got my hands on a stippling brush and some Cargo Siena and the rest is history!

My first “high end” blush was from Stila, and I still have it!
Havn’t hit pan on any blush in years! When I apply blush, I always smile, hit the apples with a circular motion and then sweep it up towards my temples. I use ecotools blush brushes and I have one brush for every blush I have. So I have about 12(!) brushes. I then blend, blend, blend
With my clean fingers and if that’s not enough, I’ll take a cotton pad and buff the edges.
i haven’t tried anything from MAC blushes…hopefully, this will be the first time… 🙂

That is a pretty color of blush, ive wanted blushbaby for sometime now, and MANY OTHER mac blushes haaa 🙂 just havent made the jump on em yet. i would really love to try them out. but i like to use a big fluffy brush like a kabuki size brush and swivle it around so i get a nice natural even color.

Here’s my story: yesterday, my boyfriend of 7 months broke up with me. I cried for a LONG time before I realized that I needed to get over it. You know what I reached for first? My MAC Evolution Revolution lipglass. When I held it in my hand, I could see all the multidimensional sparkles glistening and it was as if each sparkle was encouraging me, pushing me to stop crying and telling me that yes, everything was going to be okay.
I would really love to win this blush because it would make me feel so much better and give me the encouragement that I need. Every time I feel sad or angry, I come to your blog and read a random post and it makes me feel better. So thank you, Karen. Even if I don’t win this blush I want to thank you. The only time I’ve ever hit pan on a blush was many years ago on a no-name blush that I got in a cheap Xmas kit This was from a discount store. Don’t know what it was, but I used every last scrap of the blush and hated to see the end of it! It was the only blush that has ever really looked natural and healthy on me. This is coming from a person who prefers high-quality cosmetics! The really funny part is that the shade was a total dupe for this MAC Blushbaby! I wish I had seen this one a long time ago; could have saved me a lot of money.

The last time someone made me blush was almost a year ago at a wedding, where my boyfriend was the best man. Last time I hit the pan was a shimmer waves blush in Rose from the Body Shop. I just bought a new blush from Estee Lauder which is a perfect reddish plum which will be perfect for fall. (Also, cant believe summer is almost over)

I pretty much don’t blush, haha – I think it must be my skin color or something. Which is why I adore blush to add some color to my complexion. I’ve been using Cargo’s The Big Easy a lot lately, and I just use a regular blush brush from Posh.

I have never hit the pan on a blush! My favorite is Tarte’s Blushing Bride cheekstain. I’ve had it for over 2 years and it seems like there’s still a neverending supply!
I’ve never worn a beige based blush before, it would be interesting to try.

I’ve been using my fingers to apply my blush recently because I can’t get enough of cream blushes!
Now that I think about it I’ve never hit the pan on a blush before… the closet I’ve came was with my NARS Orgasm blush but that was when I only had one… now I have too many blushes. My favorite blush of the moment is Vincent Longo’s Day Play Duo Combo Blush. Gorgeouss really.
I’ve only hit the pan once on a blush, it was a Revlon cream blush in the most amazing color. I know I’ll never find it again and that makes me so sad.
I’ve yet to hit pan on a blush, and I’ve only had two in my life! (-: But I do love the stuff, and wear it every time I put on makeup!

I just hit pan on my favorite MAC blush Shy Beauty. It was a limited edition, so now I my hoping they repromote it real soon.
I’ve hit the pan on 2 Boots No.7 blushes in Soft Damson. Now that I’ve found a blush that doesn’t make my pale self look like a clown, Target doesn’t have it anymore!!

I don’t usually blush because my skin in a nice chocolate tone but the last time someone made me “chocolate blush” lol was my boyfriend when he says “anything for my future wife.” Ahhhhh love

I actually use the brush they give you! It’s from Covergirl and it actually works if you have a really light hand. I mean, it’s not all in my head; I have gotten compliments from those who know I’m wearing it, and those who aren’t told just think I’m feeling really healthy that day. I tried using the brush for a rimmel blush I got and it IS crappy, so I guess not all included brushes are created equal.

I don’t smile when I apply blush. If I do, when I drop the smile, my blush ends up i weird places. lol A neutral expression and blush applied right on my cheekbones gives me a pretty flush and it is lifting, too. 🙂

I always love the unsung hero articles because the reviews introduce me to MAC products that I would have easily overlooked because I thought they looked too plain the way they were portrayed by the pictures posted by MAC. However, between your swatch and your review, I can see why you think these products are so fabulous and I’m trying a whole new group of products from MAC I ordinarily would not have been attracted to. I blush (actually majorly flush) the minute I start presenting to a group of people I don’t know. It stays for about 25seconds or so and then it fades. But I’ve always been so self conscious of it!

the only time I’ve hit pan so far in my life is mac dolly pink blush and the only lipstick i’ve finished in my life is l’oreal star secrets scarlett johannson-scarlett’s blush lipstick. i got it from germany and i don’t even know if that collection was released in us! it is still my fav. lipstick I still have the empty container:) bummer it’s not availablr anymore:(

In summer I don’t worry about blush too much, I always find I’m warm enough to have it naturally!
I lightly dab on the apple of my cheeks with a darker hue and then use a lighter more sheen blush to gloss over it 🙂

Lately I’ve been using Bobbi Brown’s technique for cheeks, using mostly bronzer then adding a little pop of pink right on the apples. Looks lovely and natural!
My favorite way of applying blush is dotting a cream blush on the apples and blending out with my fingertips. Then for extra staying power, I like to use a big, fluffy powder brush and sweep a shimmery color over the cream. I top that off with a little highlighter along the cheekbones and waaahla! a beautifully blushed cheek. :]
