Yummy 🙂 I love fragrances…. When I was about 6/7 my dad would sometimes buy a little of the ‘eau-de-cologne’ you could just refill in a department store. Very cheap stuff, but we were pretty poor, so I totally felt like the queen of the world with my ‘special perfume’. Until I brought the flask to school one day and the glass broke (or was broken) when my bag was hanging into the hall. The whole place just reeked and I had to cry so hard, I couldn’t believe I just lost my beloved treasure. And maybe also because I knew some one probably had done it on purpose to hurt me. Being the self-hating person I was already back than, I didn’t allow myself to have any more ‘perfume’ because I obviously wasn’t worth it, even though my sweet dad offered it. My, what a twisted puppy I was already than… My second love, some 10 years later became Poisson, a gift from my then boyfriend. Now I prefer fragrances that are a little lighter 🙂 But just love them all <3

I am dating myself (that would be kind of narcisisstic wouldn’t it?) but the first fragrance I saved my own money for and bought was Charlie in the 70’s. At that time it was sold in dept stores like Macy’s and they also had body lotion, dustong poweder and a few cosmetic items (lip gloss and cream blush I think). I collected them all and set up one of our bathroom shelves as a Charlie display, complete with blue tissue paper. Woah. That brings back memories. In the early 80’s I discovered Private Collection by Estee Lauder (on of the best green fragrances ever) and it’s been a constant companion. I am always open to trying new fragrances and this set looks amazing and perfect for summer!

Today I’m wearing Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom.
Funny story actually – this week on the Makeup Alley Fragrance Board we’re having a note of the day week, so each day features a different note. Today’s note is Lily of the Valley. I don’t own any lily of the valley fragrances (or plain lily fragrances, for that matter) so I was going to wear Hermes Vanille Galante which kind of smells like lily. For some reason though, I got confused this morning and thought today’s note was jasmine (which is tomorrow’s note) and planned to wear L’Artisan’s The Pour Une Ete (a lovely soft white tea + quiet jasmine + a little bit of citrus), but in my rush to get out the door grabbed my sample of Tea for Two accidentally. Was dismayed to find I’d grabbed the wrong vial, so I’m wearing JM Orange Blossom instead – I keep sample spray vials of it, Nectarine Blossom & Honey and Sakura Cherry Blossom in my purse for days when I forget to spritz before heading out. =)

Fab giveaway-David Yurman represents a classic and purely elegant woman. My first fragrance I fell in love with was Ralph by Ralph Lauren (the tealish blue one). I wore it all the way from 8th grade through high school! Now, I switch between Tom Ford Black Orchid for night, and I’Dole Armani/Acqua de Gioia for day 🙂

I actually wore a great, golden oldie today— White Shoulders! It is the original version from a vintage bottle that I’ve had for many, many years. I take very good care of my perfumes and it still smells as fresh and lovely as ever!

I usually like very light scents; Issey Miyake’s L’eau D’Issey has been a favorite of mine for years, but the notes of these sound lovely! I dig pink pepper especially, so I’m excited to try Delicate Essence.

I love wearing fragrance. I wear it everyday. I even put it on before I go to bed. I also love to collect samples of perfumes. I write down what scents I like so I can buy them in the future. The first time I was really aware of a fragrance was when I was little. My Mother wore Chanel no. 5. My Father always bought it for her for Christmas. When I smell it I immediately think of her. My mom used to put spritzes of her perfume on me when I was really little. But in middle school, she bought my very own perfume, I was SO excited. I thought it was the 1st step of becoming a woman – boy was I in for a surprise two weeks later thanks to mother nature – but that is another story.

Most fragrances are a bit too much for me but these seem right up my alley. Light and summery.

My favorite fragrance is the first Victoria’s Secret which they no longer make. It reminds me of one of my great loves and a glorious time in my life. I have a very old bottle of the bubble bath. I occasionally remove the cap, take a whiff and am immediately transported back in time.
my fave jewelry is my wedding band, but also love anything from forever21. esp their necklaces! most days, i wear benefit’s frangrance “maybe baby” but i heard a rumour that it is being discontinued… so, hopefully i win these new perfumes!

David Yurman’s mother, Annie, lived in my neighborhood when I was a little kid. I don’t remember much but my parents say that she was really proud of her son. his career is a dream come true.

Mm, my first scent brings back a lot of memories. I was 17 (so long ago!) and was in love, my first love. 🙂 It was a pretty cheap rollerball type of thing I got from Missha, a Korean brand, but it smelled divine; notes of fresh cut grass, and a bouquet of flowers. It was a fresh scent, just like I was then. God I miss that year!
Then I fell in love with Lolita Lempicka when I turned twenty (or 21) and still have it but sadly the person I am living with hates perfume, so I can’t wear it around much. It’s also a strong scent so it seems to give some people headaches, although I love the sweet vanilla notes… I just want to sniff myself all day.
I feel like I could take about perfumes forever, so I’m going to stop now. I would write a novel about them, but some dude already took that niche. Darnit.
I myself am a perfume whore.. Have always loved having an arsenal of fragrances to choose from. I would have to say my first perfume affair was with Chloe Narcisse. I got a whiff of it one day while flipping through the pages of a Marie Claire. It was love at first sniff and I wore it off and on through highschool. My hubby started courting me around the same time that my love started with this scent. I went on to buy it years later after forgetting about the lovely perfume. When I wore it my husband went crazy to say the least… Isnt it funny how a scent can spark up an old memory or feeling just like that?
My second favorite animal is the sea otter! And these fragrances look lovely 🙂

Hey Karen!!! Omg I’ve been obsessed with scents ever since I was a little kid!!! I like all different types of fragrances, my fave fragrance ever though has to be Dreamer by Versace. It’s an awesome sweet & sorta woodsy/floriental fragrance. To me, it smells like nighttime in the Summer. And the bottle’a gorgeous. It was the last fragrance Gianni created before he left.
