One of my grandest multitasking loves could be considered basic…but it’s a wonderful workhorse. It’s MAC Brun Eyeshadow, and I use it as a brow filler, an eyeliner and, yes, as an eyeshadow.
Dark brown Brun is neither too warm nor too gray, and its satin finish looks almost matte when it’s on skin.
Also, yeah, it’s surprisingly easy to blend. 🙂
I’ve been wearing it for north of a decade now (YIKES), and it’s one of my tried-and-true MAC faves. It’s truly a staple.
That said, I also ❤️ me some Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, which is practically a dupe for the much more expensive Charlotte Tilbury concealer with the sponge thingamabobber!
Works fab as a full-coverage under-eye concealer because it stays put and doesn’t settle into fine lines, but it also sheers out beautifully, so you can easily transform it into a foundation if ya want. Just buff it down with a brush dampened with MAC Fix+, or mix it with a little MAC Strobe Cream, and then set it with a touch of powder (if you feel so inclined).
Lastly…and this may sound a bit odd, but I’ve been doing my makeup in the car a lot lately before my shift starts at the bakery, and the liquid lipsticks by Honest Beauty have been perfect for long-lasting lip and cheek color.

Just used the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer as a foundation this morning because of you! So far….so good. 🙂
I don’t really have many products I use for stuff other than their intended purpose. But I will take your recommendation on MAC Brun and that Maybelline concealer! Wait I do have some lotions/body creams I use on both face and body. Weleda Skin Food Ultra Rich cream is great for winter dry skin, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair cream is great for sensitive and dry skin, and Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion isn’t too thick but is very moisturizing. (Can you tell I’m getting very dry skinned up here in North Dakota?!)
I love the Maelove skincare line. They have an excellent sunscreen, and they say it can double as a makeup primer, and it does! It goes on white, but disappears into skin and works great as a primer, and is even a little bit moisturizing. The one drawback is that this line is only available online, but shipping is always free.
I do the same thing with Maybelline instant age rewind and the Nars soft matte concealer but need lighter colors for my under eye area so not sure that counts?
Benefit hoola (or any bronzer) as a transition color in the crease, tip I learned from Pixiwoo.
Since I’ve been in a rush lately I have been using the ambient lighting powders to set my eye primer and as a brow highlight.
PS have you ever tried the ABH eye primer? If you have, how does it compare to the UD primer?
I bought a compact 4-Pan cream pallet for lips & cheeks from elf recently & oh boy… what a gem! I use it as blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick. This affordable elf multitasker is as beloved as my Chanel quads!

I tend to use makeup as it was intended to be used–lipstick on lips, eyeshadow on eyes, etc, but lately I have been using the lovely ivory shade in Tom Ford’s Soleil et Lune eyeshadow quad (it’s the one with the light green shade) when I want a touch of highlight on the cheekbones. I purge my makeup on a regular basis and because I haven’t been wearing highlighter very much this past year, I haven’t purchased any new ones to replace those that were tossed. So, when I’ve wanted a hint of highlight, I’ve been reaching for that particular eyeshadow.
Pretty well the only one I actually use and do on occasion is what you listed above with brun eyeshadow. It’s my brows and upper lash line shade. I know bronzer can be used in your crease and highlighter as eyeshadow or eyeshadow as highlighter but I don’t really do that much. I can’t use lipstick or creamy products on my cheeks or eyes anyway. Back when I used to wear lipgloss, I’d customize it by adding lipstick to it when I wanted it to be darker. I liked doing that.
I love using rich lip creams as blushes, too. Honest Beauty has some really fine products; I enjoy the smoooooth fat lip crayons.
As the Age Rewind concealer came out long before hers, I would say Charlotte’s is a dupe for the Maybelline.?
Currently Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, a Sephora Collection gel blush I use on my lips as well (don’t remember the color name, a plummy dark color), and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey that I sometimes use on my cheeks!

Sorry it has been awhile since I left a comment. I love things that I can multi-task since I am on a budget. I also have a taupe eyeshadow in the Chanel quad that I also use to fill in my brows. I use the dark brown shade as a liner as well. I use my lip color as a cream blush, my corrector as an eye primer and a pale shimmer shadow as a highlighter when I feel like highlighting.
So Zack is home for winter break after completing his first semester of college. We both can’t believe how fast it went! He can chill for a month now.

I can relate to makeup in the car! and best to take budget drugstore products because if they melt, get lost or go “off” from being in the car, I won’t get bummed. The GWP palettes are great for this. My glove compartment usually has enough things rolling around in there to do a full FOTD.
Love your multi-tasker makeup tips. I am amazed at the looks you create with so few products! As for me, don’t have many I have been using multipurpose but my latest highligher(splurged on Chanel Metal Peach) I got because of its unique texture and color, it can easily double in the eyeshadow dept. I also use foundation as concealer regularly, when I have nothing but tinted moisturizer or sunscreen on.
Bronzer as broner/ crease color (I use the one by The Body Shop, the Honey Bronze Bronzer, but they reformulated) and my NARS Creamy Concealer used as foundation replacement.
