You know the ones I’m talking about — the tubes and jars, which, when you come to the last bits and bobs, cause a minor panic!
Because my skin is so dry, I would absolutely not be able to function without a rich moisturizer for my face. I’d probably short circuit; it’s that serious, ha ha ha!
Right now I’m really into Naturium Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream. Before that I was all about Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream. I’m probably switching to Naturium for good, though, because it’s more affordable at $25 for 1.7 ounces (Biossance is $60 for 1.6 ounces) and more moisturizing compared to the Biossance one.
I also always have benzoyl peroxide up in the mix. Kate Somerville Anti-Bac has been my fave for over a decade.
Hmm. I’m adding sunscreen to this list, too, but since I always have extra tubes around (seriously, I’m obsessed), I can’t imagine actually running low on sunscreen. Perish the thought!
How about you? What are the skincare products you never allow yourself to run out of?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Sunscreen. I was on my last tube of both Japanese and Korean sunscreen just before I left for this trip and I was panicking about running out before I could re-up my stash. Kate Somerville goat milk cleanser. I’m still looking for a favorite moisturizer since all the ones I used to. Use and love have been discontinued.
What is the best Japanese sunscreen? I would love to know!
I think it depends one the situation and what qualities you’re looking for. Some are more moisturizing like Nivea Crème. Some are light and cooling )because they’re gels of have alcohol) like Nivea gel-cream or Biore gel cream, or Canmake Mermsid which comes in a clear version 01, a whitd version 03 or a redness reducing, cica version that is green. They have a lot of tone up sunscreens with tints, like beige, pink, violet, peach and white. I went to just one drugstore and literally stood in front of a wall of pegs each one with a different make or version of sunscreen. And that doesn’t included the makeup company sunscreens like Kose, Addiction, SUQQU, Shiseido, etc.
I have to try that Naturium cream! They also have a night cream I want to try and Target has buy one get one 25% off on skincare products right now. One product I always have in the shower is a salicylic acid body wash. Neutrogena makes one but Target has a generic that’s just as good. It really helps prevent acne on my back and chest.
It’s SO good. Thanks for the heads up on the BOGO sale. I’ll have to grab another one!
I love Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream that I buy when it’s on sale, when I’m not trying out other skincare products. Other favorites in my dry skin regimen include: IT Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream, Korres Santorini Grape Velvet Skin Drink, and City Lips. I’m not familiar with Naturium, so I need to check it out!
My three must-haves are 1) Honua Youth Serum or Plant Medicine Lab Electric Sky Serum
2)Me Time Botanicals toner with probiotics and
3)Wabi-Sabi cleanser with coffee oil (essential oil free – my super sensitive skin loves their products and this one smells heavenly)
Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid. It helped me enormously through acne over a period of many years, and it’s still good for my skin – it keeps my pores clear.
Much love for Pipette mineral SPF 50 that is fragrance free, moisturizing and very afforable and easy to order on Amazon. Honest beauty skin sweep exfoliating powder cleanser (I haven’t been into exfoliating for a long long time and have sensitive skin but haven’t found success with retinol or AHA’s so I tried this recently and really love it, more the for experience aspect of it) and lastly, Blistex simple and sensitive lip balm (I have about 5 tubes going at once).
I know the hate Sunday Riley gets, but Good Genes is one of those skincare products that really gives me results. It took care of hyperpigmentation after I had my son, and I still use it when I see dark spots cropping up. I also love their Vitamin C moisturizers and A+ retinoid. I get to try a lot of other things thanks to NewBeauty boxes, but I always have those on hand. As for sunscreen, I use skinceuticals physical fusion defense spf50 for everyday or Elta MD if I’m doing sporty stuff. I always have a big tube of FAB ultra repair cream for when my skin gets irritated from actives.
Oh and off topic but I was wondering if you’ve tried the new Nars Afterglow sensual lipstick and what you think of it!
