Hi, friend! I had to put on makeup today because I had a short video presentation to give to everyone at work today. Was I a little nervous? Yeah. Makeup always helps me feel more confident, though. 🙂
I’m really on a non-powdery makeup kick, so I picked up some new-to-me things from Rose Inc and Laura Mercier.
Rose Inc Skin Enhancer Luminous Tinted Serum is a sheer, lightweight skin tint with a glowing finish. You pump a little bit on the back of your hand, mix the pigment spheres into the serum with a finger or a brush, and then blend the product onto your face. Kinda fun! A 1-ounce bottle is $49 at Sephora, however if you don’t mind waiting for shipping, Rose Inc currently is hosting a 25% off site-wide sale on everything, including this skin tint.
By the way, it’s available in 14 shades, and mine is 80, in case you’re wondering.

If this formula looks similar to something you’ve seen before — good eye! Chanel makes something similar both in the form of Les Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch ($65) and Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint (also $65). I’ve worn the Chanel Water Fresh Tint before, and the Rose Inc version seems to have less pearl.
Anywho, this is my first time taking it for a spin, and so far I like it! I need to wear it for a few more days to figure out if it’s something I can enthusiastically recommend, so I’ll get back to ya.
Also new to me in this look are the Tinted Moisturizer Blushes by Laura Mercier ($28 each). I picked up Corsica, a sparkling peach, and Coastline, a warm bronzy brown. I’m wearing Corisca in the pic at the top.
It temperature hit the low 90s today and Corsica has so far managed to stay on my cheeks! In a magnifying mirror, I can see a little bit of patchiness (I have to look *really close*), but considering how sweaty I’ve been all day and the mask that I wore at Trader Joe’s, I think it still held up well.
I’m going to try it next on bare skin to see how it holds up!
What makeup did you wear today?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Your skin looks great! Congrats on the presentation. 🙂 The suspension products are very cool; I was surprised that they never really became mainstream. It’s been a while since I used any Tacha products, but I remember thinking they were pretty good. I just got a Dermalociga free gift with an Ulta order recently and I’ve liked everything in it: dry skin cleanser (believe it or not), exfoliating powder (which I really like), a serum and SPF 50 moisturizer. My lucky day! 🙂
I used the exfoliating powder years ago and remember loving it. If you ever feel like splurging, Amore Pacific makes a similar one, and it’s very soft! Recently I gave the Dermalogica Cleansing Oil a go again (I used it waaaay back when); have you tried it? It’s great at removing long-wearing makeup, and it doesn’t sting my eyes.
Thanks! I’ll check those out. No, I’ve never tried the Cleansing Oil, but I’m a bit miffed at my longstanding BFF Bi-facil these days, so I’m open to some options. I know it’s not a huge deal, but every time I open it, the cap liner drops out. For what it costs, you’d think they could splurge on a glue dot. HAHA!
I do love it when I rediscover a product I really liked, and can’t remember why I moved on. That just happened again with some sample packs of Belif (the true balm and true eye balm). I need to start making lists again! 🙂
That IS annoying. I wonder if they had to change the glue because of a supply chain issue?
Isn’t it funny how we conveniently forget products we loved! I’ve done that recently with Anastasia Brow Pencil and Brow Gel. They are my OGs!
Oooh, I’ve been wanting to try the Laura Mercier blushes. I think I had one in my cart at one point but got distracted by a bird.
Love that Tatcha gift–just wish the products were larger. I love me some Tatcha.
I’m not very exciting today. Dior foundation and pillow talk lipstick. No eye, no blush.
Haha. I know what you mean. I keep meaning to grab some Jones Road but keep getting distracted by all the pretty, shiny things.
What a nice bundle of goodies and your makeup was perfect for work. Today – a couple dabs of Dior Forever Correct concealer mixed in with 2 drops of Honua beauty oil after cleansing. MAC Cheer Up Glow Play Blush. MAC Big Boost Eye Brows in Brunette and NARS Kalahari II eye shadow duo (gold taupe/soft rosy brown shades). Finally, a swipe of Cindy Joseph Boom Bright mascara (NOT waterproof, but keeps my lashes really soft). I will have to try the rose serum – the Chanel Fresh Water Tint was just a little too “watery” for the coverage I wanted but I loved it otherwise.
NARS Kalahari is LIFE. It’s a must!
You look glowing! The Laura Mercier has an ingredient my silly skin doesn’t like, too bad. And I see your Sephora birthday gift! Sephora just emailed saying I could get my July gift now – cancer season! ♋🦀
My go-to lately has been smudged brown pencil liner (either Eyeko Cocoa Edit or Lancôme Le Stylo) and black mascara (Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof). I’ve been dying my brows, so just clear gel for those, and some Bars Soft Matte concealer where needed.
Makeup makes me feel more confident too, it has something too do with putting on war paint.
Did not like lipstick by Rose Inc. Too dry to my taste. Did not try other products by them.
Interesting! Well, I can say this foundation is quite lovely, but only if you’re into sheer coverage and you like a glowing finish.
Good to know.
Bought the Chanel Aqua foundation tho. Love it!
I am 65 and wondering if this product has a ‘glittery’ or shimmery look to it. For my age I prefer no glitter in my blushes etc. Hope this makes sense..thanks for your answer. What is a good brand for my age?
