My mom is no joke when it comes to saving money. She is hardcore. She would walk three blocks up a steep, practically vertical hill to pick up a single penny, and Mom would totally give her stamp of approval to these MAC Mini Lip Gloss and Lipstick Kits.
There are six of them in the MAC Nutcracker Sweet holiday collection, each one with four products, and the kits are $35 each.
The items aren’t full size, though. They’re minis, but that’s cool because, value-wise, the kits are a great deal.

Each of the three Mini Lip Gloss Kits comes with three Cremesheen Glasses and a Dazzleglass. Normally, a full-size Cremesheen Glass would cost you $21 and a Dazzleglass would cost you $20, so all four, if you bought them together, would set you back $83, so $35 for four, even if they’re minis, is a pretty good deal.
Plus, most of the glosses aren’t colors you see everyday. I mean, I’ve seen some of them before. Like, I have vague recollections of loving Galaxy Rose, and I’ve definitely worn Phiff! in the past, but for the most part, you can’t just hop over to a MAC counter and grab these. So that’s one cool thing the Lip Gloss Kits have going for them.
I also love the Cremesheen Glass formula. MAC has a bunch of different lipglosses, but the Cremesheens are some of my favorites. They aren’t sticky like the Lipglasses, and they’re less pigmented overall, which means they’re easy to apply without a mirror.
And I think the Dazzleglasses look super cool (SHINY! SPARKLY!), but, to be honest, they aren’t my favorite formula. They’re very sticky, and I think they’re kind of uncomfortable. I mean, I’ll wear them to a party but not around the house.

The Lipstick Kits
As for the Lipstick Kits, more of the colors are O.G. MAC must-haves. If you’ve been wearing MAC for a long time, and chances are you have if you’re reading this blog, you know about Lady Danger, you know about Impassioned, and you know Girl About Town. Those are in these Lipstick Kits, and I think that’s awesome. I wouldn’t complain at all if somebody gave me the Red Kit and I opened it and saw that it had a little Lady Danger. I’d be all, “Look, it’s a mini Lady Danger!!! How cute is that!?”
Obviously, if you have these colors already, you might not want to give one of these kits to yourself, but hey, if you did want to, I’d totally support that. And if you have a friend who likes MAC, like my friend Alis does, I know she loves Lady Danger, so I think she’d love the Red Kit.

It’s hard to choose my favorite from among the Lipstick Kits, but I would probably pick the Pink one because it has Impassioned and Girl About Town.
I also really like Nouvelle Vogue in the Nude Kit. It’s a lovely pinkish coral nude. I’ve been wearing it for the past few days.
And of all these kits, if I had to pick just one…I would go with the Red Lip Gloss Kit because the colors all look different from each other on my lips. Plus, I think the Gloss Kits are a slightly better deal.

I’m really liking the red and the pink lipstick kits! I like mini lipsticks because it’s hard for me to use up most full-sized ones, lol. Rebel and Diva would look great on me, I think, and MAC Red would look good; Lady Danger could be a little challenging for me to wear. I have a full-sized Heroine, but it looks like all the colors in the pink kit would look good on me — none of them look too light or too warm-toned. Do you think the value is still good if you’d use three out of four, maybe giving the fourth away?

MAC Red is a classic, by the way, and if you like that shade, you’ll probably also love MAC Russian Red.
OMG! So much holiday stuff from MAC, my head is spinning. Too much! I’m suffering from makeup overload. That said, if MAC made a moist, almost glossy lipstick (not gloss or liquid type thing) of a color like Courting Chic, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the only colors I’ve ever seen similar to that are either in a liquid lipstick or gloss form. Of course, I’m picky and hate anything liquidy on my lips.

As for a glossy lipstick like Courting Chic, maybe MAC Dare You or MAC Party Line? Both have the Cremesheen formula, which has a semi-glossy finish.
