OK, let’s say we’ve put our false lashes on, partied like rock stars, and now it’s time to get ready for bed.
What now? How do we actually remove the darned things?
Well, I have a confession… I’m totally guilty of just ripping those suckers off, mostly with pairs that felt heavy or uncomfortable for some reason, and I JUST COULD NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE.
I’ve actually done this more times than I can count (even though I knew it was terribly unwise). Once it was halfway through a fancy party. Mid-mingling I suddenly said, “Please excuse me for a moment. I need to remove these false lashes because they’re driving me completely insane.”
Ripping those bad boys off is quick (rrrrrrip!), but it’s also risky. You could, and probably will, tear out some of your natural lashes with the falsies, and when you barely have any lashes to start with (like me), that’s ill-advised.
Back to that party I mentioned…
Luckily, being a makeup hoarding packrat, I had a tube of mascara and a lash curler in my bag, so I plopped a few coats on in the bathroom.
Crisis averted.
Now, when I’m in my right mind, here’s how I like to remove my lashes…
Removing False Lashes: Step By Step
- Grab a makeup wipe, or a cotton pad soaked with eye makeup remover. Ideally it should be something that can handle real-deal waterproof mascara and liner. I really like MAC Wipes ($20 for a pack of 45) for this or a cotton pad saturated with Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips ($18).
- Close your eyes, and gently press and hold the makeup wipe or cotton pad against your lashes and false lashes. Let that sit there for a minute or two, maybe three, if you used a lot of glue on the lash band.
The idea is to give the makeup remover time to break down the glue.
- After your lashes and falsies have thoroughly soaked up the remover, they should slip right off without any resistance. I usually start pulling them off from the outer corner, since those lashes are usually the longest, and gently lift up the band.
That’s it!

Haha! I’m not sure if pink is Tabs’ best color (he prefers jewel tones), but that would probably be the least of my worries. I don’t even know if I could get him into one.
Maybe with a lot of gravy and treats… Food bribery goes a long way.

I would love LOVE to have a furry baby stroller. And a cute furry baby to go with it. I haven’t personally seen anyone with those, but Pinterest has a lot of pictures with furry babies in them. (I have been stalking the “Animals” section, looking at english bulldogs.)

No experience with this of course! I always imagine myself struggling really badly with false-lashes and that sort of makes me admire people who can put them on a lot more!
OMG I need a cat stroller!
I tried to put a harness on one of cats once and she acted like it was killing her, so I’ve been guilty of seriously considering a cat stroller that has a screen overlay so she can’t escape (my cats are strictly indoor). Crazy cat ladies unite!

Tabs was like that, too, when we first tried to walk him on his harness. It took a lot of catnip and treats to convince him that the harness was a good thing. Keep at it! Your kitty will take to it eventually.
I actually have a stroller for my dog, we got it when we were on vacation and found out that our normally fairly well adjusted pooch couldn’t handle being in a hotel room alone, even in his crate. I frantically called my mom telling her that we would probably have to ditch the rest of our vacation, because we couldn’t go anywhere with him in that state. She recommended that we try getting a dog stroller, because she has one for her cat (who is a cranky little thing at the best of times, yet loves being in that thing), and she found stores and some museums or historic houses were happy to admit my parents with the cat as long as it stayed in the stroller. Having a stroller in combination with trips to a local doggy daycamp saved our vacation. Our dog was a little unsure at first, but after he got used to being in there, he was very good about it, just sat or laid down and watched what was going on through the little screen windows. I would caution that not all strollers are made the same, and we found out the hard way that the one we purchased was not well balanced, and tips backwards if we let go while the wheels aren’t locked. The model we have does have cup holders and a little basket beneath the pet compartment, which makes taking along water and supplies like a bowl, a toy and some treats, very easy indeed. We had a harder time finding a stroller in-store, because many only hold up to 20lbs and our dog is more medium sized than purse pet.
Umm….I totally just pull off my lashes from the outer corner in. (Please don’t hate!) It doesn’t hurt and doesn’t pull out my natural lashes. The latex glue just sort of stretches until it can’t any longer. Then the grip gives and the lashes come off.
I need a stroller for Fargo. I’ve put him in with my kids and he liked it at first, but lately he just jumps out. He is SO afraid to be outside (except in the back yard). Maybe you and Tab could compromise? I can see jewel-tones being the best fit, so maybe go for a deep pink like your accent MBB color?

YES! I want one. I have been considering one for years and looking at different models, but I can never bring myself to buy one because I’m always scared my cats are going to freak out in them.
If I ever wore false lashes, I can guarantee you I’d just pull them off 😛 I’m lazy like that, it’s terrible!
