This is what I like to call “the tissue trick,” even though I’m doing it here with a paper towel.
To avoid getting glittery fallout all over the freakin’ place, I like to shield my under-eye area by tucking a tissue under my lower lash line and using it as a protective glitter-catching barrier.
Ah, the joys of glittery fallout!
It comes with the territory when you’re working with glitter eyeshadow. The stuff gets everywhere! — under my eyes, on my cheeks, on my nose, on my chin, in my brows, in my hair, on my cat, the counters, my clothes — and it isn’t always easy to remove, especially on my face when I’ve already done my concealer and face makeup.
But the tissue trick works great, and not just with glitter fallout. You can also use it with dark eyeshadows or bold blues, greens, etc., and loose eye pigments, too. It’s like Captain America’s fallout-fighting makeup shield.

I have tried the tissue underneath, but the best way to avoid the glittery fallout is to apply the shadow with my finger.
actually I got that idea from you. it works very well. Wash hands first of course. Blend with brushes.
That also helps too! Try wetting your finger with a setting spray sometime. It intensifies the sparkle.
I used to do that, but now that I apply my face make-up first I don’t find it ideal anymore so I just clean up afterwards now.
It’s still a good trick to know!
I almost always use a tissue when I do my makeup, it just saves SO much time-I’m a busy gal, I don’t have time for fall out 😀

Definitely a good tip! Sometimes I remember to do it, and when I don’t remember and get fallout, I am cursing since I usually apply my foundation first!

Thanks for noticing! I did something a little different. I’m wearing Diorskin Nude Air Serum as a base — I did a couple very thin layers. Then, for additional coverage, I applied Sephora Future Gel Serum Concealer on my cheeks, on and around my nose, around my mouth and on my jawline. Blended it all in with a damp Beautyblender. Then I set it with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. 🙂

I do this a lot because i just cant get around to doing my foundation last. I apply it as a first step all the time.

Great trick! Literally what I needed to do today since I had so much fallout from one of the shadows from the ABH Shadow Couture World Traveler Palette. I will be trying this next time I’m using it 🙂
I hope this helps, Milena! Don’t forget to tap off your brush as well, as that should help too. Oh, and sometimes with shadows that tend to fly around, I also like to lightly press the brush onto the back of my hand first to really get the powder grains in the bristles. HTH!
