Oh, I’m about to. 🙂 Kosas Thrillest lipstick and NARS Holy Red lip liner both have the subtlest, least obnoxious yellowy orange undertones, but there’s no mistaking them for cool-toned colors. They’re definitely warm reds, but they aren’t as warm as some orange reds (MAC Lady Danger comes to mind).
I think opaque warm reds like these are vintage va-va-voom! — and I love this look, especially with bronzed lids and/or lash lines.
Kosas Thrillest, by the way, is creamy, moisturizing, and yet also substantial, almost like a matte. But it has a cream finish! It’s wild, I tell ya.
The formula also has a little slip to it, so my lips slip and slide when I rub them together. Watch out for Kosas, man. They’re an up-and-coming indie green beauty line, and their lipsticks are no joke. They’re pigmented, comfy, smooth and all-around elegant.

You’re the sweetest, Ruchita! I am usually a nude lip person on most days but sometimes red is fun. I’m sure Nina would approve since the color would go purr-fectly with her coat.

I’m currently in the middle of reading “The First Time She Drowned”. It’s about a girl who was put in a mental institution against her will and now she is navigating life on her own. It’s also a lot about her relationship with her mother. It’s pretty good so far.

Oh, this is exciting! I think it’s fun that you’re redding it up! 🙂 Btw, I forgot to tell you that I could only find one “peach” lippie in my stash. And it might have been more orange than peach. It was in a UD Vice sample pack (Snitch). It was pretty sheer so I could pull it off. You know I’ll have to make every red a stain but I’ll give it a whirl for Valentine’s sake (and since we could use some cold weather cheer). 🙂

I’m totally doing your nude lip with red gloss suggestion. I’ll be digging some of that out tonight and trying it. 🙂 I thought the peach was meh on me but, you know how I am. I’m like the Goldilocks of lip color. HAHA! Thanks so much for the good, warm vibes. I can use them. The wind and cold were brutal here this AM. It’s the boys’ birthday (15!) but we’re just having dinner at home, thankfully. I definitely don’t want to get out and about.
Hi! Would love love LOVE a tutorial about red lipstick and what to wear on the rest of your face. Im alwags uncertain of what shade blush to reach for/how much contour amd highlight is too much, etc. I’m really pale so I feel that while I’m confident wearittg bold lip colours (black/purple/blue/fushia), I’ve never felt put together with red lipstick. Fingers crossed! 🙂
