Jouer Powder Eyeshadow in Caramel and Eye Definer in Chocolat on eyes; Powder Blush in Rose and Highlighter in Champagne on cheeks; Lipstick in Kiki, Lipgloss in Glisten and Lip Definer in Rose Pale on lips
Can’t get enough of NARS Orgasm? Do MAC Nymphette Lipglass and Power Surge Eye Kohl give you heart palpitations? If so, you may suffer from warm shade lust-alaria.
Don’t worry. It’s a treatable, albeit sometimes expensive condition, and one possible cure could be the new Jouer Train Case Makeup Essentials Kit ($200).
Jouer, an indie makeup line known for natural colors and their chic girl-about-town packaging, leans more toward the Clinique/Bobbi Brown end of the spectrum than the MAC/Illamasqua side, and it’s a very pretty place to be.
This adorable pink zip-up train case comes with makeup for your eyes, lips and cheeks, and a mini- blush brush.
In addition to the case and the brush you get…
- Powder Eyeshadow in Caramel: a shimmery warm peachy gold
- Eye Definer in Chocolat: a shimmery golden bronze
- Powder Blush in Rose: a matte warm pink
- Highlighter in Champagne: a shimmery peachy gold
- Lipstick in Kiki: a shimmery peachy pink
- Lipgloss in Glisten: a sheer, shimmery light peach with multi-colored glitter
- Lip Definer in Rose Pale: a matte peachy pink
- Lip Enhancer in Conditioning Lip Treatment: a colorless lip moisturizer
- Luminizing Moisture Tints in Bronzed, Deep Bronze, Glow, Golden and Pearl: sheer, shimmery tinted moisturizers with SPF 20
…and a big $200 bill (ouch).

It’s awfully expensive ($200), but you do get a lot. Really, it breaks down to about $14 per piece, which isn’t bad if you look at it that way, so if you see yourself wearing these shades often… 🙂
PRICE: $200
AVAILABILITY: At Henri Bendel boutiques (find a location) and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+ (A if it wasn’t so expensive)
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

It looks absolutely beautimous on you! You’re right when you break down the price, but I still hate to spend that much all at once. I would rather spend $200 cherry picking several different brands. I would like to try Jouer though. Love that lip combo on you–very pretty.
Thanks, Cindy! 🙂 Jouer is really nice. When you get around to trying the line hit up the blushes, shadows and pencils first.
That case is very pretty and I love the light blush pink. $200 is a lot to pay upfront but there is a lot of stuff in there. I can’t for your review on the goodies, hopefully it is worth the price.
Hi Amy,
Is there a specific product you’d like to know more about? Just lemme know!
You look absolutely gorgeous! Even though the holidays are coming up I can’t bring myself to drop 200 on this bad boy though… there’s so much other makeup to finish.
What’s your favorite piece in the set?
Hi Connie,
That’s a tough question. The powder products are especially lovely (blush and shadow). They’re smooth and pigmented, yet still look natural. The pencils (eyeliner and lip liner) are nice too; they glide easily along the skin.
oh my goodness that case is gorgeousssss!! im a sucker for pink things and if it wasnt for the heavy price tag, i would probably be all over this just for the case! haha 🙂 but anyways, i cant wait to see your review of the blush & highlighter 🙂
Love your swatches, which camera do you use?
You look gorgeous! The case is very pretty too. It is an expensive kit but at least you do get a lot of things. 🙂
Very pretty! Why is it that I’m so attracted to bags and cases that I don’t need and will most likely just sit in a closet with the rest of the bags/cases I *had* to have? 🙂
The packaging is a little underwhelming (lol packaging is always the first thing I notice), but that traincase itself is so pretty.
This would be a perfect kit for keeping on the yacht.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a yacht.
oh my …. i should keep this in my private jet! 😀
so spendy!
*clutches heart* Dear lord that is a GORGEOUS set — but ouch, that price! Do they sell that lovely case on its own? (If not, they totally should!)
That’s a big one time investment – but the case and products are beautiful! Also, I love your necklace in your look pic!
Very soft and pretty Karen! But strangely – the description on the Henri Bendel website doesn’t mention the luminizing moisture tints. Does the kit definitely contain the moisture tints (and are they minis or full-sized)? Thanks 😀
O. M. G. i NEED this. sadly my tiny budget will not allow for it… :'( and that traincase is beautiful!!
oh my gosh.
May I just say how beautiful you look in peach tones?
Obsessed with this! Do you happen to know if it’s LE or not? And how is the brush?
I love how they all snap together. That’s pretty awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or tried this line before.
NEED NEED NEED
Loving that lip that you’re rocking here!
I just don’t understand why there needs to be 5 luminizing moisture tints. I say they should put everything else in the pack but allow you to pick maybe two that matches your skintone separately.
To be honest I don’t like buying things in sets (except for brushes!). I like stalking a product for weeks and building up the anticipation before purchasing it. Sets normally collect dust at my place
KAREN! Jouer is having a 20% off sale on Black Friday–One Day Only–sitewide!!!
Yea $200 IS a lot to pay up front but at $14 a piece, it’s a great deal. Thing is, I probably wouldn’t use everything PLUS it’s way out of my budget right now. I love how everything is so nicely packaged though!
Gasp! What a lovely case! And that lipstick! I wish they didn’t include the moisture tints; it seems like that would bring the price down a lot and you aren’t likely to wear all of them. Tempting (Christmas present for myself??) but I just threw out a few hundred bucks at sephora and need to curb the spending. 😉
