WHAT IT IS: Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Purple Berry, a limited-edition twist-up purple pencil liner from the Les Delices De Chanel collection.
WHAT IT DOES:
- The texture’s on the hard side, but it’s actually relatively smooth for a hard pencil…if that makes any sense, and it doesn’t skip, which is great.
- The pencil itself is very thin, which makes it easy to apply right at the roots of my lashes and water line.
- This particular purple color doesn’t have heavy red undertones, which I like, because sometimes the reddish tones in purple liners give me zombie eyes.
- The finish has a subtle, elegant sheen to it that reminds me a little of Becca’s Cabrera.
- This thing’s like Michael Phelps in the water! It’s extremely waterproof, especially along lash lines. I wore it to the pool yesterday, and it didn’t flinch after 10 cannonballs. 🙂
- For a deep purple color that lasts all day long, I apply 2-3 layers along my lash lines.
- I know that for a lot of women the Chanel Stylos perform well along their water lines, but I haven’t been so lucky. For me they’re just okay. Along my water lines, I have to apply 4-5 layers to really see the color, and then it lasts about 5 hours, tops.
- It’s isn’t really a smudgy kind of liner. It’s actually pretty tough to blend the edges.
THE VERDICT: Along lash lines, Purple Berry is like a Jolly Rancher (read: it lasts a very long time), but it could use a little help along my water lines.
But even with that caveat, I’m still wearing this thing down to a nub! I plan to wear it on my lash lines often.
If you have hazel, brown or green eyes, I think you’ll love the color even more. It also has a slight sheen to it, too, which is kind of neat.

Yesterday I read this really interesting article about a woman named Christy Marx who worked as one of the writers for Jem and the Holograms back in the ’80s. Jem was one of my favorite cartoons growing up.
Now Christy writes for the gaming industry, world building and writing backstories for games.
How cool is that? Um…how come people like Christy never came to career day when I was in my school?

Ahh love a good purple liner/shadow/anything for the eyes 😛 This shade is gorgeous! Still am a bit scared to try this formula because I have a sneaking suspicion it won’t stay put on my super oily lids but I am getting closer and closer to buying one with every passing collection!

Wow. This looks like a great true to amethyst color! I’ve actually been looking for one for a while now. Most of them seem to fade brown and lose their purple, I take it this doesn’t do that? and how well do you think the purple would show up on a pale skin tone? Like say, classic ivory? 🙂 Kisses for Tabs (I would say fishes but I’m on the east coast and it’ll all go bad by the time it gets there, kisses don’t expire) 😉

That looks pretty on you especially the lipstick. I’ve tried 2 of these pencils and ended up returning them because they didn’t last more than a couple hours on me. I recently brought the khaki colored one very nice color but faded too fast. I love a good purple liner though.
