MUD’s more than just a makeup line with cosmetics, tools and skin care in prices ranging from $10-30. It’s also a makeup school, which has been around for about 10 years, with branches in Los Angeles and New York.
So far I really like what I’ve seen from the brand. The sturdy, modern packaging isn’t fancy, but most of the colors are pretty suitable for everyday wear, unlike a lot of the really cra-zay-zay (but still very cool) colors over at Kryolan, another makeup school/line.
The limited edition All That Sparkles Holiday Collection, a set of products for eyes, lips and cheeks, comes in a palette of wearable pink, silver, violet, charcoal and beige that’s easy to dress up or dress down. With the set, you also get a roomy, zip-up makeup bag.

- 4-Hole Eye Color Palette
Man, this palette’s so easy to use. I’ve lovingly nicknamed it “Blending for Dummies” because the powder shadows melt together without hardly any effort at all. The shadows deliver dense color, have a downy-soft texture, and all four of the colors play together well.Cashmere (a shimmery pink), Voodoo (a shimmery purple) and Tinsel (a shimmery silver) all work great as single, swipe-and-go washes of color on the lids. The more dramatic Onyx, a dark-as-night matte black, looks great with smokey or cat eyes.
- Cheek Color in Rose Beige
This warm beige powder blush adds a light matte flush of color to cheeks and face. I use it as a blush — just a few swipes on my apples and I’m good — but lighter lovelies could probably use this as a countouring color to define cheekbones, too. - Lip Glaze in Cupid
The texture of this long-wearing gloss feels exactly like a MAC Lipglass except instead of a light vanilla scent/flavor, this one smells and tastes like strawberry (the scent fades in a flash). I love this sheer bubble gum pink and that it doesn’t dry out my lips either. - Eye Pencil in Vintage
Vintage, a warm medium brown with a hint of purple shimmer, easily smudges for soft, blended lines.

Is Onyx dark enough and of the right texture to easily use as an eyeliner alone? I love it when palettes include shades that can do that!

Yes, it’s a deep, dark black. I’ve worn it as an eyeliner along the lash line and waterline and it works great.

I’m new to them too, and from what I’ve seen so far they’ve got some very nice things. I was pleasantly surprised by the gloss… I think it would be snazzier if it came with a doe foot applicator, but that’s just me being a picky packaging person, LOL!

today i used some humid on my lids and knight divine on the crease with very thin gray eyeliner (stila smudgepot in gray) … and pet me blush. kinda simple bec im wearing a red shirt and didnt want to look like a coloring book.
i <3 subtle blushes … and that one seems right up my alley. i checked MUD"s website and there is 1 store that sells it here … kinda close to where we live. ill probly check it out this wkend!

man, I like those colors WAY more than I thought I would! The look you have is gorgeous. I was especially iffy about the silver, but actually am starting to think it would rock pretty hard. How did you use it with your eyes? Is it on the lid or in the crease…? I’m having trouble picking it out. Which is a good thing, I suppose 🙂 You’re blending is hella pretty!

The silver was the easiest part of the look. I took a clean finger, packed it with the shadow, and then pressed it into the center of the lid. I let it sit for a while and it just melted right into the rest of the look naturally.
I think it adds a nice “highlight” to brighten things up.
Oh my god! I love everything in this collection. The blush especially is so wearable and beautiful. Wonder what the shipping charges are for MUD 🙂 And all this for $55 is amazing too!!
