Things that cross my mind 30,000 feet above the Pacific Ocean…
- If the zombie apocalypse went down and all air travel ceased, the only way I’d be able to visit Hawaii would be by boat … and that would pretty much suck.

- Did I really just pay $7 for a fruit-and-cheese plate filled with tired apple slices, cracked crackers and sketchy cheese?

The climate control on airplanes sucks! Literally. Whenever I’m on a plane, I can practically hear the moisture being vacuumed out of my face. Mfsuuuuuuuup! By the end of the five-hour flight back from Kauai, my combo dry/oily skin felt like an old leather wallet.
First thing I did when I got home — well, the second thing, after biscuits with Tabs, of course — was wash my face with Kate Somerville’s KateCeuticals Moisture Milk Cleanser ($58), and I swear I heard my cheeks sighing with relief.

Now, a lot of cream cleansers will do that, but I think Kate’s goes above and beyond. The layer it leaves behind feels thicker and much more hydrating than other cream cleansers I’ve tried. It really seems to lock in moisture and keep the flakes at bay much longer than most.
After washing my face with this each morning and night since I’ve been back — so only a few days — my face feels about a million times better than it did on the plane.
Like the idea of Moisture Milk Cleanser but looking for a budget friendlier alternative? CeraVe’s Hydrating Cleanser ($12.99) is a favorite of mine. It may not be quite as moisturizing (although it’s close), but it’s a lot less expensive and still gets the job done.
I’m not cray-cray about the $58 price tag, but my combination oily/dry skin sure likes this stuff. The 5-ounce bottle seems like a reasonable size, too. I only have to use a few drops to thoroughly wash my face and neck.

Oh we have all brands that could come to India. Since I worked with Clinique for almost 3 yrs till now I use their products a lot!
Plus I use Estee Lauder and Neutrogena. In India we have many brands that are Ayurvedic and use a lot of herbal stuff. So there is Himalaya and all brands that I dont use though.

What Kate products have you tried? I have a small tube of Exfolikate in my shower waiting for me to give it a go. I picked it up on a whim at Sephora a few weeks ago.
I am getting bits of dryness around my jaw area for some reason. Not really sure why but this makes me so intrigued about this product!

Whenever I read/hear the word “antioxidants”, my ears prick up a little. I am obsessed with antioxidants in my skincare! Agreed though, the price for this is a little steep–and as I have oily skin, I don’t think it would be very practical for me to spend $58 (!!!) for this cleanser. If ever I am having a dry skin disaster though, I am definitely going for it!! Exfolikate, on the other hand, is something I’ve been wanting to try FOREVER.
Thanks for making me LOL. I’m not sure I could shell out that kind of money for a cleanser that’s going to be rinsed off my face in 60 seconds. (I know it says you don’t have to rinse but, ewww. What happens to the yucky stuff if you don’t rinse it off?) ExfoliKate, on the other hand, is worth every.single.penny. I also picked up Quench from her line. But, I’m not enamored with it. Feels too silicone-y for my taste (and pocketbook).
I’ve been wanting to try one of Kate’s moisturizers since I have already fallen in love with Exfolikate Body and the Clearing Mask. They are both fantastic! Thanks for the tip on a more budget-friendly version, too :).
I love Kate Somerville products. You have to drop a lot of cash on them, but afterward I can definitely they were worth it.
This sounds like a great cleanser! I’m just not sure if I’d shell out 58 dollars on a cleanser. I guess I prefer to invest in serums and lotions. As long as a cleanser is effective (but gentle) I’d take it!
I love Kate Somerville products and live near her salon in West Hollywood, so I try to go when I can.
