The sweet pastel colors currently cavorting across makeup counters had better make room. Dolce & Gabbana’s new $29 Intense Khol Eye Crayons recently roared into town, and they are not messing around.
In a season of soft pinks, peaches and greens, these mostly jewel-toned eyeliners, part of Dolce & Gabbana’s new Khol collection, might as well be wearing motorcycle jackets and riding Harleys way too fast, because for spring, that’s how edgy and rebellious they look.
Add one of these rich, intensely pigmented pencils into your spring makeup mix and BAM! — you’re born to be wild. 🙂
All five fierce shades are swimming in pigment — a nice offset for the hefty price — with some of the strongest colors I’ve ever seen from the brand.
And the texture? Oh, the texture… Smoother than a tub of organic cream cheese.
Mmm… bagels and cream cheese.
I’m sorry, where was I? Oh, yeah! — the texture. Absolutely no tugging whatsoever.
Yesterday, I felt like trying something a little different, so I wore all five shades in a single look. I slipped the liners along my lash and water lines in the morning, and 10 hours later, they were still going strong, with nary a smudge and very little fading.

Intense Khol Eye Crayon swatches from the left to the right: Peacock, True Black, True White, Chocolate and Dahlia

And since these are so soft and creamy, and have such a malleable formula, when I use them, I have enough time to smudge and play. I do have to be a little careful, though, when I draw really thick lines with them along my upper lash lines, because the colors sometimes transfer into the creases on my upper lids when I blink.
When I notice it, I’ll either pat a powder shadow on top (to set the color), or run a Q-tip soaked in eye makeup remover across the area to remove any excess.
Pricey, yes, but Dolce & Gabbana loaded these liners with pigment, and they last a really long time along my lash and water lines.
Next time I don’t want to bother with having to touch up throughout the day, I’m grabbing one of these bad boys, for sure.

P.S. Yay! It’s officially the weekend everywhere east of here. Happy Saturday. 🙂
Right now I’m just firing up a rerun of 30 Rock on the Tivo and sitting down with a bowl of garlic and broccoli pasta for dinner. Yum!

Peacock and Dahlia are GORGEOUS! I love the look you’re sporting here!
Peacock is gorgeous. I love love love it.
I really like Dahlia. I have been searching, for what seems like FOREVER, to find a purple/plum color that will actually last on the waterline. It seems I can not find a pigmented, true to color, long lasting formula. I would gladly fork over 29 dollars for something that works…I am quite sure I have spent over that in my search 🙁
Love Peacock, it’s stunning!
i like how you layered the colours, i’ll have to try that
I love Dahlia, so it’s great to know the formula is good! Now I’ve got to check these out!
I think I’m in love with Dahlia!! Have to check it out 🙂 Ooh Brocolli and pasta.. is it sad I’ve never had those 2 together ?? I guess Iknow what I’m having for dinner tonight!
