Combine one part cool shades with one part warm, add a dash of shimmer and a pinch of matte, and then bake until done.
No, this isn’t another banana bread recipe! 🙂 Although I admit those are quite high on my priority list these days…
I’m describing these two The Delectable Palettes by Laura Geller.
Delectable… That is a very tasty word, haha.
All of the baked shadows within these two palettes, both of which launched this past summer, begin their journey as liquified pigments, which are then poured by hand into molds and baked, rather than pressed…
Mmm… Why does that remind me of artisan bread?
(Yes, I’m always hungry these days.)
Making them this way is supposedly make them perform better when used wet, for more intensity, or dry, for a sheerer, less opaque finish.
With 14 shades per palette, these are bursting with color combination options and almost limitless potential, but because they’re baked shadows and not pressed, they’re generally sheerer than the powder shadows you’d find over at Urban Decay.
For a sheer, Bobbi Brown-esque natural eye makeup look, apply them dry, but if you feel like really going for it, say with shimmery purples on your lids and flirty false lashes, apply them wet for more intensity.
I do find these to be pretty easy to blend, and I see almost no fallout.
I think these perform well for the price, particularly for daytime wear. Both palettes are available now for $45 each at Laura Geller counters and online.

I have a few baked products from Laura and I like them but they don’t get the love my UD and Too Faced palettes get. These look nice but I’m glad I don’t “need” them. LOL

The Shades of Cool is really pretty wet. Then again, I’m a sucker for purple/plum/mauve palettes.
Uh oh. I got the Delectable Shades of Nude during the 20% off ULTA sale. The darkened olives and browns reminded me of the colors from MAC Haute Dog collection (Posh Pedigree and Purebred)and the palette has such beautiful autumn colors. When I swatched in store dry, the pigment on the darker shades seemed pretty decent, but the swatches here don’t look very sheer. Hmmm, I wonder if I have to rub off the top layer to get to the good stuff, as the tester in store was pretty well used? Anyways, I’m testing the palette this weekend, will report back
