I learned something oddly thrilling today. The new NARS Crazy Heart Set ($50) glosses are sheer enough to apply while walking down the street without a mirror (try it sometime), yet pigmented enough to make an impact on passers by.
This is brilliant news! Now I can devote more precious time and energy to important things, like unraveling the mystery behind Zac Efron’s allure.
The set comes with five sheer shades from the NARS permanent lipgloss line — Easy Lover (a hot pink), Babe (a reddish orange), Orgasm (a shimmery golden pink), Turkish Delight (a creamy light pink) and Misbehave (a cherry red with golden shimmer) — all of them highly wearable, with the exception of Turkish Delight, which looks kinda milky before it mellows into an attractive pale pink.

As far as flavor and scent, these have both, which is strange considering their full-size counterparts have neither, and it’s my least favorite thing about them. These smell and taste faintly of plastic. Yep, plastic. 🙁 But I think it’s almost imperceptible.

I’ve tried this shade in nail polish but never in gloss, I will certainly try !

I love every single thing in the set! The shadows are all flattering and great pigmentation, and the Orgasm Multiple? Come on, for this lover of all things coral, peachy-pink, etc….? It’s beyond amazing!

Yep, it’s a very sheer hot pink on me – just the right pop of color without getting too crazy.

Do you get flashes of blue at certain angles? I noticed that on my lips a few times.

They’re very pretty, except that I am a bit creeped out by Turkish Delight’s milkiness. I currently have more lip glosses than I can shake a stick at, but I’m sure I’ll give Orgasm a try in the future since I really like the blush. RE: the Orgasm gloss. Are you more of a sheer or pigmented gloss girl? If you like more color/glitter, Nymphette might be the way to go.
And funny you should mention that Phil Collins song… it’s actually my karaoke tune, haha!

And yeah… it’s tacky as all hell but Easy Lover is my karaoke jam. Everybody knows the chorus (so I can always find somebody to duet with me), and it always gets people dancing!

Okay back to the subject at hand. I have Easy Lover and many other NARS glosses and that’s my same complaint – the plastic smell. Also, did they change the consistency? I don’t remember my older lip glosses being this thick? I feel like they somehow got thicker (the newer glosses like Easy Lover). Is it because there’s more pigment? My Supervixen gloss is older and also a thinner consistency that I love and doesn’t bother my lips. Also Turkish Delight is a pass for me – to milky white for my liking. I may buy this and just share with my sisters.

Anyway, these new ones don’t feel all that much different from the old ones to me. It’s possible they changed the formulation, because they do indeed smell different.
I love how NARS glosses are always so eye poppingly bright and edgy in the tube while still being totally wearable and understated on. I think where NARS has really gotten it right is not with colors or formula necessarily but with marrying packaging design and branding. That black rubber packaging and NARS logo is instantly recognizable and gives all the products a unified-ly edgy feel no matter the color of the actual product.

I’ve never really had any issue with their scent; the plastic-y ones from this batch are totally new to me! Thankfully it goes away quickly.
What are your go-to NARS glosses? I’m a Sweet Revenge and Supervixen kinda girl, myself.
I have Scandal and it smells plastic-y too. S’Ok, it more than makes up for it with great color and wear. The scent dissipates pretty quickly.

Yep – got it with my Sephora FF order. Love the staying power. I’m going to try layering it over Courting Lilac since that is pulling totally red/brown on me and not lilac at all to see if I like it better with some glossiness. If not, it is going back and I’ll probably pick up NARS Cruising instead — love the sheer pinky, nude.
It’s interesting to see how different shades turn on different skin tones. Have you tried blanking out your lips first with a concealer or a foundation? That might help bring the purple tones out of Courting Lilac.
I know! My mom and I have completely different coloring. One of our favorite games is to try on the other’s lipstick. A mid-tone color on her looks goth on me. A mid-tone color on me looks like concealor on her. Will give a shot at blanking out my lips.

I think I liked Babe the most, but it’s hard to tell, since the difference between them is quite.. subtle. I really like your look on the firt two pics though, so pretty!
