Haaay, boo! How ’bout a mid-day makeup break? 🙂
Question for ya: How do you feel about looks with taupe, purple, pink and black? That’s the direction I went in today when I based my eye look on the MAC Packed to Go: 6 Cool Smoky Eye Shadows palette from MAC’s new line of spring travel exclusives (Packed to Go).
What are MAC travel exclusives?
Well, MAC isn’t the only brand with them, but travel exclusives are individual products (and sometimes entire collections) sold primarily through domestic and international travel hubs like airports and duty free stores. Prices and availability can vary widely, but tracking ’em down can be a lot of fun!
How about you? What did you do for your eye makeup today?

Top row from left to right: Seedy Pearl, Tendersmoke and Satin Taupe; bottom row from the left to the right: A Brown Suit, Beaty Marked and Carbon

Swatches from left with a flash: Seedy Pearl, Tendersmoke, Satin Taupe, A Brown Suit, Beaty Marked and Carbon

Swatches without a flash

Seedy Pearl, Tendersmoke, Satin Taupe and Carbon on eyes. Other products used in this look: Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoomblack on eyes and Cremesheen Glass in Deelight on lips from MAC Look in a Box: Girl Next Door; Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation in Soft Honey and MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Powder in Medium Dark on face.
Here’s to a wonderful Wednesday afternoon (*raises cup of tea*)! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

cute look! and I love your hat!
I already have most of these shades… satin taupe is my ho!
Haha, I have a buddy who feels the exact same way about Satin Taupe. It’s her jam of all jams! 🙂
Didja get any work done on your thesis draft?
I did and I’m still chugging away on it! did you sweat it out with JM yet? you still have a lot of day left – are you up to anything else fun? please say yes so I can live vicariously through you? 🙂
Yes, and it was sweet pain per usual. My thighs have been burning for the past few hours… The weather has been nuts here (alternating between hail and sunshine), so if it clears up I may (fingers crossed) go to Sephora. 🙂
that is a lovely palette. it doesnt really look cool toned to me … it seems like a palette of colours that will be flattering to almost any skin tone! 🙂
I think it’s really pretty too, although I plan to stay far, far away from that reddish wine shade. Well, unless I want to look like a scary zombie…
that red color is kinda like an amped up version of cranberry (which i love) … it will probly be nice on the crease with something milder on the lids…. 🙂
Pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty! Hat hair and makeup combo is just lovely!
Thanks, JJ! What makeup are you rockin’ today?
TheBalm’s tinted moisturizer in medium, stila major lash mascara and lip balm from the body shop 😉
I got my nails done with Sephora by OPI’s Brunette on the Internet today, and the color is stunning… reminds me of the cult of cherry MAC ads. It’s also awesome because I got it on sale off the Sephora website for $5 🙂
I love the looks of this, but goodness knows I don’t need another matte black!
LOL… they’re like the sensible pair of shoes of the eyeshadow world. I have about four pans…
lovely hat… and i will try today with black smokey shade. my first visit to this site and i realy enjoyed.
Great colors… I’m a huge fan of both Seedy Pearl and Satin Taupe.
Hey, Karen… how did Novato fair with the big storm last night? Up in Santa Rosa we lost power for about 3 1/2 hours last night. Not fun, and the yard is a mess today!
I love these colours! I need this!
Pssst-I’m all caught up now on Being Human!
I love the eye palette! So many gorgeous colors in one~ one of my favorite eye palettes was a Shu Uemura travel exclusive.
I love the look you’ve done with this palette, and your hat is adorable 🙂
I probably own too many shades in this palette to justify getting it, but it’s got some really nice colours
I love your hat!!! I actually like it more than the palette…whoops, guess I’m going hat shopping instead of makeup shopping….hehe awesome
You are freakin adorable in that hat. Love the makeup as always 🙂
Wow, I love this palletes! Thanks Karen for the swatches:) Looking back to your past reviews on Mac Blot, you are totally right:)It really did a great job for my combination skin. I am loving it and finally sticking to it:)keep up the good work!<3
Oh my…that Tendersmoke is gorgeous. How happy would I be if that popped up as a single in a collection? C’mon MAC. You know you want to.
obsessed with your hat! Where did you get it?
I’m pretty meh with this palette. If for traveling purposes I don’t think the hues are universal enough to work with every outfit. Skip!
Ah the packaging is so sleek. I have a colleague flying through Heathrow – maybe I should bug him to get this for me 😉
Satin Taupe and Beaty Marked are by far my favourites! Yet again, MAC pull out all the stops with a fantastic product release! They don’t look very pigmented though when applied?!
I so need this palette, and the other one, too! I will be in an airport in two months, but I’m afraid it will be too late for these.
Ahhh I have green eyes, this would look so pretty!
*want want want want want want want*
Woah! Popular shades under one “roof” I WANT!
Hi!
I bought this packet to go pallete (my first mac eyeshadows) and I didn’t got this swatches on my skin with the pallete applicator… do I need to use water or a primer (mine didn’t work) to achieve this colors?? ;(
