François, homeboy, I know you’re busy — what with selling your Bora Bora island and working to create the best lipglosses on the planet — so you’ve got, like, NO spare time, but couldn’t you have squeezed in a few minutes to name one of your five new Audacious Lipsticks “Karen”?
I mean, it’s not like I’m asking you to get a prison tattoo of my face on your forearm. ALL I WANT IS A LIPSTICK NAMED KAREN.
Is that too much to ask?
I’m not the only Karen, and I suspect that most of us would love to have our name on our very own Audacious Lipstick. I imagine that having one would feel really great, like discovering that you’ve been made an honorary member of Salt ‘n’ Pepa and En Vogue.
This time around, Apoline, Shirley, Stefania, Kate and Mona get the honor, and they’re part of the new NARS Audacious Fall Collection, which launched August 15 at NARS boutiques and the NARS website and arrives September 1 to Sephora.
I’d lipsticks could talk, I’d ask these, “Why are you so creamy and opaque? Why don’t you ever settle into my fine lines? WHY DO I LOVE YOU SO MUCH?”
From this batch, I’m all about Apoline (the pink rose) and Stefania (the deep fuchsia), because they’re pink, and I’m predictable that way, haha.
But I also think that Shirley (the crimson), Kate (the purple orchid) and Mona (the mahogany) are pretty, too.
The NARS Audacious Collection also includes a completely new line of potted brow creams called…the Brow Defining Creams.
Available in four colors, they feel drier than a MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme to me and are slightly less pigmented, but in this case, I don’t think that’s a bad thing, because if I had a dollar for every time I tried a product like these and accidentally “Instagram browed” myself beyond oblivion, I’d have enough money to buy that Bora Bora island from François myself.
I usually steer clear of brow products like these for that reason — because of how intense they usually are — but these are just pigmented enough to fill in the sparse spots without leaving my brows looking heavy or overdone. The results look very natural, which makes me want to kiss François on both cheeks. 🙂
They’re $23 each and available in Sonoran (a blonde), El Djouf (a light brown), Tanami (an auburn) and Danakil (a dark brown).
There are also two new dark, pigmented Unrestricted Eyeliner Stylo liquid liners. Both are black and $27, but one has a matte finish and the other is satin.
The only thing is, I’m a flexible felt tip gal, and these have a stiff tip, so my lines end up with shaky, mousey, unsure edges, and I prefer my lines to say, “If need be, I will cut a b*tch.”
The Audacious Mascara in the collection is a re-promote from the permanent line, and I like it for separation, lift and curl — that, and it doesn’t smudge or flake. So it’s a good one, and it’s $26.

Yes, we can both be honorary members of En Vogue! If you can’t find the tee in the store, look for it online. Such a cute throw back tee. I also bought a tee from Tar-jay that reads, “I know Guacamole costs extra”. In my mind, it’s an ode to Chipotle. Or anywhere guacamole is served. Lol. And I’ll be in the look out for the email. ☺️
OK, so the big Chipotle mystery: why do they offer you cheese OR sour cream? Why not both? It drives me crazy!
I dunno. But I agree that it is a mystery. Me thinks that guacamole should be free & cheese & sour cream should be standard. Wonder if I could find a tee that says all these things? Etsy shop tee shirt idea, amIright? ?
Here’s the pic of the tee. I couldn’t find the women’s tee at Target but I found several places online with the same shirt. Looks like Tarjay only has the men’s tee & the women’s tank online but should be easy to find elsewhere. Happy shopping!

The Audacious lipsticks are gorgeous. Smooth, non-drying, don’t settle into fine lines and super pigmented! I have several that I use an love. Out of the two you mentioned I have to give a shout out to Stefania, because it’s such a gorgeous bright pink. LOVE IT!

Anywho, on my cheeks I’m wearing Hourglass Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes in Luminous Flush and Incandescent Electra. 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions about any of ’em.
Lol “Instagram Browed”! Ive definitly done that. I have the Anastasia Dip brow and if I’m lucky my brows come out nice and naturalish. Most days though my brows would look looked crazy and not match. I’d always wished for a sheerer version so maybe these brow creams will be it !

I was watching the old Tom Ford collection with lipsticks named after boys and I was like “I need a lipstick with my name”, so you aren’t alone.
Inquiring minds want to know: Are you using the defining creams in the photos? I’m almost sure I’d use the second darkest shade but I want to know which one do you use.
Amazing how just a change of lip color can change the whole look. You look great in all of them, but my personal favorite is probably Apoline. Also: I want a lipstick with my name too!

I was really excited about this lippie launch for several reasons: first, apoline seems to look pretty on everyone so far, so I have high hopes even though I usually am really picky about true (read: not plummy, browny, or slightly reddish) pinks. I often think they wash me out, but this looks good! I’m even surprised by Shirley, because for a somewhat bright red, it looks really wearable, even for cowards like me! 🙂
mostly, though, in line with the lipsticks being named after lovely ladies… I already own the audacious Leslie, 100% because it’s my mother’s name… and now they’ve released Mona, who is my grandmother! (mom’s mom!) coincidentally, and also quite sadly, I lost my gramma mona a week ago tuesday, and of course that was devastating, but a part of me still had to smile at the timing of this launch! ?

I love the original release of the Nars Audacious Lipsticks, so these look incredible. I’m also very intrigued by the Brow Defining Creams. I’ll definitely have to check out this release in stores!
