Wowee, wow, WOW! Not only did Essie’s new Resort 2010 collection knock my socks off, but then it picked them up and ran away. 🙂 I mean, I usually like the things Essie comes out with, but I haven’t been this stoked about one of their releases since Neon 2008 (I still le sigh when I see Bermuda Shorts).

Splash of Grenadine
OOH! The four-piece Resort collection takes me and my nails down to the spa with colors that remind me of tropical vacations, but not in the way that tropical-themed nail polish collections usually do. These shades aren’t your average beachy corals and hot pinks. Essie Founder and President Essie Weingarten went
with these creamy bad boys, drawing inspiration from the chic vacationers who stay at Ritz Carltons and tan on private beaches in luxe island style.

Turquoise & Caicos
Not only did Essie hit the right color notes, but she rocked a flawless formula, too. I think all four of these shades are super easy to use.
- Texture: Some Essie polishes are extremely thick, and consequently can be a little hard to apply, but these have a texture that feels just right — not to thin, not too thick.
- Pigmentation: Two layers = complete coverage. 🙂
- Shine: I might be trippin’, but I swear these are glossier than usual for glossy polishes…

Lapis of Luxury

Playa Del Platinum

I
ALL of these colors and think Essie really hit this one out of the park! This Resort opens next month. 🙂 Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I have always detest Essie nail polishes, probably because of their formula. All the ones I got were like too thick and too hard to work with.
But now since you tell me about their different formulation within this line, I’m gonna try them out. The colours are just adorable! Especially Splash of Grenadine, it’s so bubblegummy.
I have yet to try a blue nail polish, I never had one.

I so like Splash of Grenadine & Playa Del Platinum *~*! Where can I buy it?

Those are very pretty. 🙂 Especially the pink… definitely will pick that up as I’m looking for a nice midtone pink.. I’ve never tried Essie nail polishes but these are very tempting.
These would be a great way to get to know the line. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. 😀
Beautiful colors!
I really like Lapis of Luxury – reminds me of a tranquil dip in a nice cool swimming pool.
I’m tired of the mint green and taupe trends so those two don’t grab me.
I do like Splash of Grenedine quite a bit too. Looks a bit run-of-the-mill though. Perhaps I just need to see it in person.
It looks like it could be kinda typical, but it’s actually really eye-catching in person. I hope you like it when you see it!
I love nothing but Essie’s nail polishes. OPI suck donkey balls because they get so thick by the time I get to the second coat and the colors aren’t as true from the bottle unto the nail is that makes sense. Essie is the ONLY nail polish that I have tried that is smooth and creamy from first to second to third coat.
And they last a long time too.
I loove splash of grenadine! What top coat do you put on? They look so shiny!
.-= Rowan’s last blog post… Sales! Sales! Sales!! =-.
Believe it or not this is without a top coat at ALL. They are shiny like that on their own.
I need the whole collection! The colors are all stunning and so shiny!

I love ’em all too. This is one of the best Essie releases I’ve seen in a while. 🙂
aaaaaahhhh, I want them all. I wonder when my Trade Secret will get them
.-= Shadowy lady’s last blog post… Rage =-.
They should be on counter next month!
You’re not trippin’, Karen – that is some unbelievable shine!! And, as usual, you’re inspiring me to pull out the cuticle oil. 🙂
😀 Cuticle oil is one of the greatest inventions, ever! My nails would look a raggedy mess without ’em.
How’s your Friday going?
Wow, love these colors, they are all so beautiful!
My fave is the Turquoise and Caicos 😛
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday and a fabulous weekend!
Thanks, Van! You have a fantastic Friday, too. 😀
Are these out now? Cuz I will run to Pure Beauty across the street from me to snag that Grenadine and Turquiose colors right NOW!
They aren’t supposed to be on counter ’till next month. Do you go to the Pure Beauty in the Embarcadero? I used to live in that store, ha ha!
i need an option that says, “i cant pick! i love them alll!!”
wow absolutely LOVE these!!!!!
My fave’s Playa del Platinum, it looks very chiq indeed. The green one is very pretty too, a bit more Summer-y, but I don’t imagine rich chicas sporting that one for some reason!

Essie is my favorite, thanks for posting this and letting us know and doing swatches and everything!
Happy Friday Karen!
Turquoise and Caicos is my favorite. Definitely picking that one up…
Have a great weekend!
Oh! I love them!!!!
OMG I am so excited!!! I have been looking for a perfect nail polish to go with my prom dress and see Splash of Grenadine. It is so so pretty Karen! I will prolly will get all four shades tho. The glossy finish is just beyond gorgeous.
I want to buy them all!!!
.-= Julie’s last blog post… Day 209 =-.
Those are great colors!! And they do look really glossy. I especially love the turquoise one because it’s reminiscent of mint chip ice cream. Yum!
Wowie!! I absolutely love these – I’ll pick ’em all up 😉
I see you have them safely protected! lol!!
.-= Helen’s last blog post… New York – I love you! ♥ =-.
Karen, you tease! I have been searching for a nice turquoise color for soooo long. When I saw Turquoise & Caicos I think the clouds parted and I heard angels singing. And then I saw it, “This Resort opens next month.” 🙁
Ooo. I’m so excited thooooo.
Turquoise & Cacios and Lapis of Luxury = MINE!!
Wondering how close Turquoise & Cacios is to the Chanel Turquoise polish?
Hi Karen! Your nails look great with these shades. To be honest, I was only going to get one of these shades, because the Essie spring collection was so hard for me to work with formulation wise – but you just made me want ALL of them with this post! I’m so glad to hear the formula is different, because honestly I like all four shades. Very, very pretty little summer collection!

such pretty colors for summer!!
This is where it was supposed to post my other comment! ANYWAYS, I cam back to this post before buying my “springtime polishes” today and got the 4 pack on Amazon for $10.90! Whooo. LOVE. Cannot wait to wear them, thank you so much for the color swatches!

the green one looks like the audrey nail polish in china glaze…..the same tone as a tiffanys box. its one of my favs 🙂
Just got my set and these are amazing~
I was a little freaked out by how sheer the first coat was, but there’s some sort of ESSIE MAGIC that happens when the second coat goes on for totally full coverage!
