Jouer Tinted Lip Enhancer in Shiraz…and I have NO IDEA what’s going on with mah hair!
Jouer’s new Mini Tinted Lip Enhancer Collection ($25) is technically a holiday release, but doesn’t it look more bridal from here?

Jouer Mini Tinted Lip Enhancer Collection
Perhaps Jouer had a Christmas wedding in mind (FUN!)?
The company, a relatively new indie line launched back in 2008, sells a full line of makeup, a handful of brushes and bags, and a small (but lovely) collection of body products.
Their colors, packaging and non-fussy style remind me of a beauty Banana Republic, but they’re nowhere near as widespread. If you can’t find them locally, they are sold online and, while this will be out of the way for anyone outside the New York area, at the Henri Bendel store on Fifth Avenue.
The Mini Tinted Lip Enchancer set comes with three little 0.15-oz. tubes of their sheer gloss in Bellini (peach), Champagne (nude) and Shiraz (berry), as well as a very small gold pouch to store them (not shown).
The colors are completely new additions to the line, but they’re essentially tinted versions of the company’s moisturizing Lip Enhancer ($14), which hydrates kissers with vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil.
The glosses feel thin, slick and non-sticky on my lips, and have a short-lived, faint brown sugar scent (which I like; reminds me of Josie Maran glosses).
But speaking of short-lived, these don’t have the greatest wear time. In fact, I’d say it’s only about an hour, and, beyond that, I actually find them unexpectedly drying. After a few hours of applying and reapplying them, I swear my lips feel drier and tighter than before.

Swatches from left: Bellini (a sheer peach), Champagne (a sheer nude) and Shiraz (a sheer berry)

Bellini

Champagne

Shiraz
For me, these are a case of form over function. I
the style, but I do wish they lasted longer, felt more hydrating on my lips and came in larger tubes for the price.
If you’re interested, the set’s not available for sale yet on the Jouer website, but it should be coming soon.
PRICE: $25
AVAILABILITY: Limited in stores. Coming soon online.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Your looks just-out-of-bed sexy!
As for the lip enhancer, my favorite is Shiraz!
Hi Antonia,
I wish I looked like that when I got out of bed! The reality’s much, much scarier, LOL!
hi there! 🙂
thats a lovely packaging right there — but if theyre not that long wearing ill probly think twice about giving this as a gift. :/
im checking their website out for bath and body products though!
Hi Nina,
Both the bath oil and body cream are dreamy! They’re a splurge, but still very nice.
i like body oils! 🙂
last night i got some philosophy bubble baths — yum!
Okay, where did you get that necklace?!?! I LOVE IT!!!
Hi Cherie,
I got it in 2007 at Macy’s. It was on the discount table, LOL…
Shiraz looks great. That’s my favorite of the swatches. Though, yeah, that price is pretty steep, especially if it doesn’t last very long.
Hi Trisha,
That’s my favorite shade out of the bunch too.
Hmmm, I like the juiciness of it, but I def need longer wearing glosses. Ditto on the necklace!
Hi Kajal Couture,
Me too. What are your fave long wearing glosses?
Not too excited about the product, but the packaging is lovely! And I too looooove your necklace! 🙂
Thanks, Olga. I’ve had it for years… it’s one of my faves.
Hope you had a nice Thursday!
the packaging looks very pretty but it’s too bad they don’t last long.
It’s like you put it on and then — BAM! It’s gone. I gotta say I obsessively rub my lips together. It’s a bad habit.
Hi Karen! how do these compare in consistency with the Korres Lip Butter Glazes? I’m a sucker for cute packaging, so these are intriguing me, despite all your warnings!!!
Hi Erica,
These are much thinner and have more slip. If you like very slick glosses then you might dig ’em.
Have you tried the Lip Butter Glazes yet? They’re kind of amazing.
Awww, your hair is just a test run for what you’d look like with a tousled pixi cut. You could totally rock it.
Hi Steph B,
It would certainly be an excuse for me to stock up on scarves and earrings. 😀
Karen-Love the necklace as well. Do not like the Korres lip butters. They are not worth the money.
You always look terrific and your spirit lifts my day 🙂
I just wanted to say my dad 93 years old passed away in his sleep Tuesday morning 1: 30 AM.
I am happy it happened the way it did. He has suffered long enough.
My mother took it very well. She is in the same Nursing Home. She is 86. My father’s sister is also there, she is going to be 101 in January.
Amazing isn’t it?
Michele
Hey Michele,
I’m so very sorry about your loss. Sending you big hugs across the internet…
I actually think that you look super flippin adorable here Karen! :)) Hope that you’re havin a good week! I’ve been freezing over here in SF!
Shiraz is GORGEOUS on you. Love the color, but $25 is too much to spend for glosses that don’t hang around more than an hour. 🙁
Darn, I hate that in a lip product (drying). It’s a shame because they’re very pretty and Shiraz is definitely calling to me. Not with the short wear time and drying effects, though.
Btw, you are totally rocking that eye look. I love the gold. And your hair looks very sassy. I hope you went out to run errands – the neighbors would definitely be jealous! 🙂
