Greek isle or metallurgical experiment? How about both? Or neither…?
With NARS Cythere Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil, it’s as if NARS melted down a rose gold bracelet and poured the molten metal into a mould the shape of a gloss.
Neat! And like the two most recent products I’ve tried from the spring 2013 collection so far — Dressed to Kill Lipstick and Seduction Blush — Cythere is intense, and yet it’s probably the springier, more wearable of the two lip products from the launch.

Is that a hint of bronze I see in that metallic, rosy gold? Très élégant, oui? 🙂
I can see myself wearing this…anytime, but especially in late spring/early summer, perhaps to a party wearing a gold mini-dress or a simple cream-colored tank.
If it’s an outfit that goes well with gold jewelry (or rose gold jewelry), I bet it would look great with Cythere (NOTE: Cythere might be a little warm for super cool-toned gals).
It’s maybe not the most unusual, unique color I’ve ever seen, but I still think it’s pretty.
The non-drying, medium-weight formula lasts about five hours on my lips, and it doesn’t have any flavors or fragrances to get in the way. Texture-wise, it’s just plain comfy.
PRICE: $24

I used to work for Shiseido Corporate (owner of Nars) and their makeup is just outstanding… Love it!
Hi Jennifer,
They do make great stuff. Have you ever tried Shiseido’s sunscreens? They’re my fave!
Oh I LOVE that! And it looks great on you!
Thanks, Megan! Have a happy Tuesday!
That really is a pretty color. I love the touch of bronze. I agree that it would be a great for a summer party. 🙂
Now if only we were at that summer party right now! It’s been freezing out here in Cali. No, literally freezing! Every night I’ve had to cover up my orange tree to protect if from the frost.
Oh, no! I’m sorry to hear that. It’s snowing here now, but I’m thankful because we have a b’day party for the boys on Sunday. It’s snow tubing on a local hill/ski area and all of our snow melted last week. We were a bit panicked. After Sunday, I’m all for the summer party, though! 🙂
Think I’ll be checking out Dressed to Kill 🙂

Sounds great! It’s a lovely dark shade. 🙂
