Not gonna lie, Marrakesh Chic is probably the most excited I’ve been about a Bobbi Brown release in a while. The new Rich Color Eyeshadows, WHEW! Kind of amazing.
But before we dive in, let’s — beep, beep, beep! — back up a second. Bobbi recently launched this new fall collection for eyes, lips and cheeks at Bobbi Brown counters and also online. The Rich Color Eyeshadows ($24 each), a brand spankin’ new line of powder shadows, headline the launch.

I swatched the collection a couple weeks ago; right off the bat, I had a feeling that Bobbi’s Rich Color Eyeshadows would rock me down to Electric Avenue. And they did. Now, after having worn two of the eight shades, I’m itching to grab a few more.

It’s almost like Bobbi figured out a way to combine Dolce & Gabbana’s eyeshadow textures with Becca’s sheen finish; the powders look and feel feather light on my skin, and I love the subtle hint of shine.
It’s funny… When I was younger, I always wanted to wear makeup that would make me look older, but now that I’m in my mid-30s, I’m trying to work it the other way around.
The Rich Colors help me do just that. The texture and finish don’t spotlight my fine lines, and I feel like the pigment and colors accent my eyes without shouting, “Hey, y’all! Check out my sparkly green bling-bling eyeshadow!” Ultimately, I think these are just very, very forgiving.
After trying a few different eye brushes and also using my fingers, I found that a tip that I received from a Bobbi Brown makeup artist a few weeks back at a counter was dead on. These eyeshadows deposit more pigment when applied with an eyeshadow sponge applicator than they do when applied with a brush. Then, after applying then, I’ll blend out the edges with a fluffy powder brush.
I did that today when applying Rich Kashmir (the shimmery brownish taupe) to my lids and Pink Silk (a light baby pink) into my crease; the look was easy as pie and only took about five minutes.

Oh, and when they’re used with a good eye primer (I like NARS Pro-Prime), I don’t have to worry about fading or creasing for a solid 15 hours.
All in all, I think these Rich Colors are really fabulous, and Bobbi did a bang-up job. A little pricey for a single pan, sure, but at least they’re fab.

I checked it out this morning and LOVE the huge pictures. I always like behind-the-scene stuff about the big beauty brands. I hope Bobbi herself uses the blog to dish about her life in the biz.

Cute heels! LOL why have I never thought of that??! I have a cute new pair that I picked up for an evening wedding a few weeks back, they KILLED my feet… to die for cute but yah didn’t know how I was going to put myself through the torture again 🙂 Definately going to have to try the socks now.

I don’t know what it is, but you look very pretty in these photos Karen. Like, more so than usual! I think it’s your hair – it looks a little different, a little darker. All I know, is you look beautiful and sophisticated and I love it!
