Never mind that they aren’t adequate building materials (Lego would probably be sturdier), but at least when the homies rolled up I’d have a great conversation starter.

The housing situation would be precarious at best. Cold nights would force me to snuggle closer to Ryan Gosling (darn), but I’d always have access to a good-looking blush.

Recently released with Bobbi’s spring collection, the Brightening Bricks are like toned down Shimmer Bricks, but instead of containing strips of highlighting powder, they’re part blush, part warm bronzer. And they’re $46 each (which seems a little steep for Bobbi Brown, or is that just me?).
My cooking is notoriously questionable, but this is a recipe I can handle. Just grab your favorite blush/face brush, swirl it in the pan to combine the bronzers and blushes, then sweep the mix on your cheeks or lightly dust it all over your entire face for a subtle, natural-looking glow.
Old-school raise-the-roof hands to Bobbi for remembering that it takes all kinds — all kinds of skin tones across a wide range, that is. The Brightening Bricks come in four shades — Pastel Pink for extra light to light skin tones, Pink for light skin tones, Coral for medium skin tones and Cranberry for dark skin tones.
Forget Fleet Week; let’s talk about Cheek Week! 🙂 I’m flying high ’cause I’ve been having a really great one, thanks to these and the Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blushes. “Natural-looking” has been the phrase of the week.
The powders are on the sheer side (not a bad thing in this case, because it keeps me from looking like I’m wearing too much rouge), but you can build them up moderately.
Yeah…I mostly use these as a straight-up blush. That’s how I like them best, and I’ve bopped back and forth between Coral and Cranberry (the latter I use with a light touch, because it’s a tad dark for me this time of year).
Both are surprisingly easy to use, despite appearing quite glittery in their pans. I thought they might be too shimmery for me at first, but the powders apply and blend effortlessly once they’re mixed together.

I don’t know about the $46. It might be a bit high. But I think the pale pink blush I get from her is $25 or $30. With this you’re getting all the highlighty hues too. And it’s a brick 🙂
The price is up there but the formulation is unique to justify some of the lunch money!
I looked online for an hour to find a makeup gift for a friend in southern France who claims makeup is a no-no for her. Sounded like an invitation to buy her an upcoming birthday present!!
I wanted to find something casual yet chic, useful but subtly uplifting on the face, and the sort of thing that does not scream: Here, you need to wear makeup!
She’s got warm medium-toned skin and blue eyes so Coral is my initial choice. (I’ll have to send a brush too.) She’s a fan of Kat von D but not heavy-metal makeup!

I love the original shimmer bricks, so I will give those a closer look, too.
The price is really a bit high, but these bricks are really promising. I think it’s worth shelling out the extra bucks. I love how Coral looks on you, but I might check Pink first.

Cranberry looks beautiful! I like the concept of these and the formula sounds pretty nice too. But I’m not too sure about the price tag. $46 is a lot for a blush

I’m really mad at Bobbi Brown for not releasing some of the shades in the US. Europe has 2 shades that are not available on the US market, Pastel Peach and Tawny. In the US there’s no shade made for light skin tones with warm undertones – what Pastel Peach covers in Europe. I would buy it if it was available here!
I like the look but they sure are expensive!
This looks similar to NYX’s mosaic blushers.. Some of them have such beautiful subtle highlights!

You know, everything Bobbi Brown is “steep” and so not worth the price for hardly there coverage. No thanks Bobbi! I’ll spend my hard earned money on other brands where my money goes further.
I think all makeup is starting to get priced out of my comfort zone. I think the companies are raising the prices because they aren’t selling enough and they aren’t selling enough because the price is just too high for most of us working stiffs.
I really think the coral looks beautiful on you. How do these compare to the Hourglass blushes? Similar idea?
I don’t have kids and my house is paid for so I do treat myself to nice things but when the prices keep climbing and my paycheck doesn’t…well…I do want to eat when I retire.
There are a lot of cheaper blushes on the market, which are probably just as good. I like this product because I’m usually lazy to bronze and highlight, so I’m willing to shell out for this!
