Silly goose, did you think I was talking about some kind of shell or cardigan from that Mad Men show? Whom do you think I am? A young Peggy Olsen on her first day in the secretarial pool? No, no, no.

Dior’s gunmental Grey Sigh and fuchsia Ballerina Pink Twin Sets, both from the new Cherie Bow collection ($30 each), come with a creamy, twist-up stick eyeshadow on one end and a matching foam tip loaded with loose powder eyeshadow on the other.
Dior designed them to complement each other, like a matching sweater set. Start with the creamy stick shadow on your lids as a base, and then for more color, shimmer and depth, pat some of the eyeshadow from the foam tip directly on top.
I’m a little on the fence about Ballerina Pink… I’m getting a zombie couture vibe from it, but I adore Grey Sigh.
First of all, the name. “Grey Sigh.” Of all sighs I’ve ever sighed, I’d wager that a good 75% of them were, in fact, grey. Or gray.
A turquoise sigh? Please.
Even though I think the pink’s a little difficult to wear, it sure is easy to apply. With both of these colors, application takes me two minutes, tops. Just swipe, pat and blend. That’s it!
And when I’m really, really rushed, like when El Hub is yelling, “Babe, we needed to leave the house 15 minutes ago!!” I can even skip using primer. With or without one on my combination dry/oily lids, these last me from 6-8 hours.
For a 30-second eye makeup drill, I’ll skip a brush altogether and just blend out the edges with my fingers.

Now, now, you say “zombie couture” like it’s a bad thing!
I usually put my pink shadows in the crease over a taupe that I’ve applied on the lid and up into the crease. The taupe tones down the pinkness of the pink.
I don’t blame you for being hesitant to decorate the tree. We wouldn’t want another “incident.” ~side-eyes Tabs, but in a loving way….~
The grey shade looks beautiful. Pink would be nice on green eyes, but definitely not on me..

Grey Sigh is definitely very pretty! The pink on it’s own is too hard to wear, I think. You obviously proved that one can make it work and work WELL, but since this is just a single shade as opposed to a palette with other shades to temper it, I am going to pass :/

Those look like awesome sets. I agree that pink on its own in a vibrant shade like that can be difficult to wear. I typically pair something like UD’s Woodstock with AC/DC or Pistol – it tones down the pink but the pink adds a nice pop of color. By the way, we’ve had our tree since Sunday but it has yet to be decorated…

The gray looks fantastic on you! I agree about the pink…although I do like to add a punch of color now and again. I like the idea of completing a look quickly, but most things crease on me. This is definitely a try before buy product for me.
