There’s something so inspiring about a fresh chop! Now that my hair is shorter and has more shape, I’m excited to do stuff to it again. (It’s been a while!)
On that note, I’m trying some new things. I’m on a quest to find products that help my mane look presentable after air drying.
- R+Co Sun Catcher Power C Boosting Leave-In Conditioner: A leave-in conditioner that adds mega moisture without weighing strands down. You can use it on wet and dry hair! I’m on a mission to boost volume, which is why I wanted to try it.
- R+Co Zig Zag Root Teasing + Texture Spray: A lightly tinted texturizing spray that lifts roots. You can also use it on the mid-shaft and ends for lift, shape and hold.
- R+Co Sail Soft Wave Spray: A lightweight spray that encourages soft, natural looking waves. You spray it on wet hair before air drying or using heat tools!
- dpHue ACV Daily Scalp Serum: An oil-free serum that’s supposed to balance and hydrate the scalp while also encouraging hair growth.
- Urban Decay Naked Half Baked Palette: A travel palette of powder shadows inspired by the iconic shade Half Baked. I know this isn’t hair related, but I’m wearing it today so I figured it deserved a shout out, too!

Building those happiness muscles, day 10
Welcome to hump day, friend. How is it Wednesday already?
OK, so the two things that I’m grateful for today:
- Watching my daughter dance. She’s been rond de jambe-ing since she was in my tummy! It’s so fun to watch her grow as she dances.
- Hair claw clips. Seriously, so great when it’s hot outside!
What are you grateful for today?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I am grateful for looking out and seeing only blue sky when the phone was screaming at me about an “extreme tornado alert”. It went north of us, a wimpy Zero on the EF scale, and probably knocked over a couple of garbage cans (or as we call them: “Racoon Bento Boxes”.)
Hair clips were great for me today too because my hair was a MESS. I’m working on finding the right products for my hair too – my hair is wavy but very fine so heavy products aren’t great for it. Also I definitely wash my hair more than most people LOL.
I could not LIVE without hair claw clips all year round!
That zig zag root teasing spray sounds good.
I love Urban Decay – I have their Naked Basics 2 palette.
The link for the Urban Decay palette goes to the wrong item.
I am liking the Olaplex No 9 for air drying, as it reduces Frizz, but as your hair is thick and not bleached, it might not be the right thing for you.
Your hair looks great! I have no advice for you since our hair is so different. I do really like Pureology’s leave in spray. It’s too heavy to use regularly in my hair, so it might be good for yours. It has sun and heat protection and a little spray goes a LONG way (at least on my hair). 🙂
I am grateful it’s the Friday before a long weekend! And that my boys are both home for the summer.
I’m grateful I remembered to take a look at what you’ve posted because I had no idea Urban Decay came out with more mini palettes, which I love. I don’t see them listed on Sephora, so will go hunting for it somewhere else. Gosh I haven’t bought a shadow since before all the shelter in place began.
