The fanciest itty-bitty lip balm that I ever did see! If I were walking on the beach and saw one of Tom Ford’s Clutch-Size 2017 Soleil Summer Collection Lip Balms glinting on the sand, I’d think it was a piece of lost jewelry, and I’d snatch it up with a quickness!
Hey, if you’re gonna release a $36 luxury lip balm, it might as well be marvelous. Like Tom’s summer lipsticks, these tiny tubes have gold trim and white packaging, but they’re also petite, which I think makes them extra cute.
There are six shades, and here’s a look at four of them. They’re all available now at counters and online.
Now, for the-million dollar question: are they $36-level cute?
Well…does anybody ever really need to spend $36 on a fancy lip balm? No, right? Buuut…who the hell cares? 🙂 It’s makeup. It’s cute, and it’s special. If it fits into your budget and makes you happy, why not?
Sure, they’re moisturizing and pigmented (is that vanilla I taste?), and yeah, they feel slick and comfy, but they are just little lip balms. You only get 0.07 ounces per tube, and you’ll probably also have to reapply often throughout the day, because they don’t last very long.
I mean, you could easily grab a tube of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment instead. They look and feel the same on my lips, and they’re just as moisturizing. Plus, you get twice as much balm for two thirds the price ($24 vs. $36) and SPF 15 to boot.
If you eat, sleep and dream Tom Ford, I say go for it! — but if you’re saving up for that $300 cat tower you saw at HomeGoods last week (SERIOUSLY! I SAW A $300 CAT TOWER!)…I dunno. It’s up to you.
If you absolutely can’t live without one, I wholeheartedly recommend orange-red Neotropic. It’s surprisingly pigmented and almost in the same ballpark as a full-coverage cream lipstick, so I feel like you get a good bang for your buck.
Connor’s petting zoo
A couple of days ago, we went outside for our regularly scheduled playtime on the grass in our little shared neighborhood common area, and my neighbor Joe comes out and he’s like, “Hey! Does Connor want to meet my bird Willow?” and of course we said sure. I think Willow is a Cockatoo. He’s huge and white and Connor watched him in awe…
Then, shortly after Willow decided to take his leave, we happened upon one of our other neighbor’s kitty cats, a big fluffy tabby who looks a little like Tabs, a fact that Connor got really excited about. The cat ran up to her on the lawn, then promptly ran away when she started laughing and chasing after him.
But the most exciting part of the afternoon by far was when Connor got to meet a couple of HUGE dogs.
The first one, Gracie, is the yellow lab in this pic, and she was sweet and gentle and let Connor walk up to her and hug her around the neck.
The second dog was a gigantic friendly St. Bernard — twice as big as Connor. Our little coywolf had absolutely no fear. It kind of blew my mind! She walked up to both dogs, totally unafraid of being a little thing surrounded by these huge beasts, and patted them around the neck, hugged them, and then tried to mount them as if they were ponies.
I don’t know if I should be worried, LOL! I hope she’s not a little daredevil… Or maybe I do. Might come in handy when she goes to Mars!

Wow, thanks Dot! Let’s see… what am I wearing? I’ve got Make Up For Ever’s Smoothing Primer on my cheeks, nose and forehead. On top of that, I applied NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint mixed with a few drops of BECCA Backlight Primer (it’s a pearly peach primer), which I blended in with fingers. I skipped the setting powder (didn’t feel like I needed it). On my cheeks and cheekbones I’m wearing Tom Ford’s Highlighting and Cheek Duos from summer 2017 (review coming soon). Thank you! Fresh and glowy was what I was going for. You have to tell me all about your pup! The one Connor met the other day was 9-months old and HUGE. He was literally two times as tall as she is. What’s your dog’s name? And what’s her personality like?
Her name is Dora 🙂 She is really sweet, very gentle with us (even though I like to tease her when we play with her). Still learning to understand who is friendly and who isn’t, in the outside world. She’s quite friendly in general and ohhh, really lazy! She would sometimes bark at other dogs from when she spots one outside through the windows but the tail doesn’t stop wagging when she meets a new playmate on her walks! They are the perfect size and this fact makes them lovely! I know, for me Tom Ford is a bit pricey but I love Pure Shores and La piscine 🙂

P.S. I forgot to answer your question about dry brushing on the other post. So far I haven’t found it to be uncomfortable. I ordered a brush off Amazon and I think it has natural boar (?) bristles. They aren’t too rough. It actually feels kind of good and scratchy on my dry skin. I haven’t been doing it long enough to notice a difference, but I’m going to stick with it!
The doggie is taller than Connor Claire <3. This is so cute! As for the lip balms, I want to eat them – they look like strawberry lollies! Cant wait to check these out too!!
I loooove St. Bernards! And large doggos in general. My mom’s old dog Tinkerbell is a Rottweiler, possibly mixed with something else. She’s a big beautiful 100 lb dog who loves little kids and kittycats.
These are so gorgeous. Definitely a splurge but might be worth it.
It’s awesome that you’re exposing Connor to so many (friendly) animals. I think developing positive relationships with pets helps to build kindness and empathy in kids. 🙂

So cute, a little animal lover! My doggie is a Yorkie who immediately shows friendly humans his belly for a pat. I love kitties as well,but my husband’s allergic! As for TF lip balms, I’ll pass too much $$!
They are so cute! and so is your little one. The only worry I have(aside from the price) would be melt/break factor. If I am traveling to a hot climate for summer, I’d be afraid of taking a traditionally packaged bullet casing like that for fear it would be a goner. Not nice when it was a splurge item. I’d love if TF would come out with a few small sized of their Moisturecore line, for that very reason. But these do seem super pignmented for a balm, so I guess that is a plus! I think my Chanel rouge coco shine and clinique almost lipstick are better summer travel picks for now.
