Rising French starlet Marion Cotillard’s been making a splash lately! Did you happen to catch her in Inception?
Born September 30, 1975 to two acting teachers, Marion’s been on stage and in front of cameras since childhood, appearing first in one of her father’s plays.
In 2007 she became the first person to win an Academy Award for a French language performance for the film, La Vie en Rose.
I still have some of her movies to watch (which ones have you seen?); I love how adventurous she is with her hair!

The new MAC Dare to Win collection — wait, did I say dare to win? I meant Dare to Wear.
Let’s try that again…
The new MAC Dare to Wear collection’s been out for a couple of weeks now, which in MAC time is about five years, ha! 🙂
Have you had a chance to see any of the bright shadows up close and personal yet? If not, there’s always whims of chance.
Which reminds me — it’s giveaway time!
One lucky lady will win MAC’s Dare to Wear Eyeshadow in Sassy Grass ($14 value), a highly pigmented matte green.

Entering is easy. There are two different ways, and you can do both of them for two chances to win.
Follow @karenmbb and RT to win MAC Sassy Grass Eyeshadow from the Dare to Wear collection http://bit.ly/bMFyBQ
Okay, I’ll take “my current favorite eyeshadow combo” for the win, Alex. Lately I’ve been turning to an old friend, MAC Woodwinked, applying it to my lids along with MAC Ricepaper on my brow bone. Woodwinked is an easy neutral to work with and ideal for quick looks I can finish in less than five minutes.
I’ll pick the winner at random from among the people who enter by 11:59 p.m. PST on Tuesday, August 24.
Chúc may mắn!

If happy hours, ramen noodles, party crashing, mac and cheese, Taco Bell bean burritos and Totino’s frozen pizzas are fixtures of your college life (like they were mine!), take a little look at LORAC. Their $36 Close Up Real Life to Red Carpet Eye Tutorial Kit has “I’m a [hawt] broke college student” written all over it.
I’ll never forget the first time I went to buy books in college… YIKES! I guess I didn’t get the memo about every thick, hella boring science textbook costing an arm and a leg, and maybe it was out of a desire to prevent that same kind of eye-bulging sticker shock that LORAC came up with the idea.

The kit makes it easy to go from lunch in the campus cafeteria to a look ready for dinner and a movie. For $36 you get four full-size LORAC all-star products — a primer, a mascara, an eyeshadow trio and a liner — along with a small dual-tipped eye brush and a tutorial booklet with step-by-step directions for three different looks. Bought separately, the liner, primer and shadow trio by themselves (not including any of the other cool stuff) would cost almost twice as much as the entire kit.

A little disheveled but otherwise fine. Tabs woke me up from a dead sleep twice last night, both times using my stomach as a springboard. He’s been doing it a lot lately, and I can’t lie — it’s starting to get a little played out.
I think so. I took a typing class back in high school and 14 years of piano lessons. Now I type pretty well, except when it comes to the numbers… I still have to glance up at those.
Red velvet with cream cheese frosting, YUM!
I vaguely recall my parents, who are both accountants, making me frame the check.
Purring cats, the sound of waves gently rolling against the shore of an empty beach, accordion music, the sound of drip coffee brewing, mah jong tiles clacking against a hard table, wind rustling through the trees.
The big box filled with clothes from my college years. None of it fits me anymore (I was a size 0 then), but I have lots of memories in that box (not literally, of course, ha!). As far as ever fitting into any of that stuff again, to quote my magic eight ball, “The outlook is not good.” 🙂
The Grapes of Wrath, which I loved, and The Scarlet Letter, which I loathed.
I think it’s hot, but I know that a lot of people think it’s not.
To be blunt, right now I look to’ up from the flo’ up. One word: gray. I’ve got my gray cropped yoga pants, gray roxy sweatshirt and a gray tank top. At least I’m comfortable…and ready to suddenly exercise if forced to!
Soup, as in I’d like to prepare some homemade soup. I’d also like to fit in two 5-mile runs while remaining focussed, patient and calm every day of the week.
