BTW, been meaning to ask — what’s your favorite bronzer?

Living one mile from a Tar-ghay
has its pros and cons… In the pros column, I have easy access to great, affordable beauty brands like Boots and Sonia Kashuk, but the flip side of that is how easily I get distracted every time I want to just run in to buy TP or cat food, gah!
Here are 10 of my favorite Target beauty buys. Can you think of anything else we should add to the list?
“Turns out this bad boy’s all that and a bag of baked Cheetos! — an affordable, all-purpose eyeliner brush (part clouds; insert heavenly music *here*) with a pointed brush head (soft synthetic fibers), an angled barrel and long handle.”
Full Review | $6.00
“Sonia Kashuk went big with her Matte Oil Blotting Papers ($7), not only making them significantly larger than comparable ones from MAC (about a quarter of an inch longer on all sides), but also giving three times as many sheets for just about half the cost (100 sheets for $7, versus 30 for $13.50 of the ones from MAC).”
Full Review | $7.00
“Hoping for hot-mama hair of my own, I started using the shampoo, conditioner and spray gel from the new Clairol Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Line ($4 each). I honestly didn’t think anyone would notice, but you gals have such a good eye! After I put up this face of the day, a few of you asked in the comments what I’d done differently with my ‘do.”
Full Review | $4.00
“If it weren’t for their faint mint flavor and fragrance (which dissipates quickly), they’d almost be knockoffs of the MAC Lipgelles, which cost twice as much ($14). They have a similar smooth and shiny, non-stick texture and also broadcast seriously intense color.”
Full Review | $6.50
“CoverGirl claims Exact Eyelights Eyeliner brightens eyes by 4x. I didn’t notice particularly brighter eyes, but I like it as a basic liner that stays put for a *very* long time. I’ve been using the Vibrant Pearl pencil for the past few days, and this puppy stays put like nobody’s bidness.”
Full Review | $7.00

The sun finally came out (we’ll see how long it lasts, hmm), and the blue skies inspired me to paint my paws with MAC’s Blue India ($12; on counters now).
I like the color, but from certain angles it kinda reminds me of my friend’s hoopty Buick back in high school.

Still deciding on what to do with my toes…

Can somebody please translate what this package of Gatsby oil blotting papers says?
I wish I took more language classes in college, sigh.

It’s Saturday, girls, which means (HOLLA!) we survived the week!
This morning I woke up still feeling sleepy, so I’ve been fueling up on green tea, you see, to make it through all of the fooling around I have planned for today. 🙂
But first I have to do some boring house cleaning stuff (boo!)… Once I take care of that, though, I’m gonna try to pop by Marshall’s to look for a pair of cage shoes that don’t make my toes look like monkey feet. Good luck to me, ha!
Before you go about your Saturday bidness, can you catch a few waves?
I’m hypnotized by this video
Beautiful and soothing…
The first song I’ve listened to every morning this week…

Enjoy the rest of your Friday night, and I’ll catch up with you soon. 🙂

Breakfast of champions!
Last night El Hub brought home some mini-cupcakes from a bakery he passes on his way home from work. 🙂 They were red velvet, lemon and chocolate, and THIS is how I felt when I opened the box:

Frickin’ sweet tooth’s always getting in the way of the whole eating better thing, grrr!
I managed to exercise enough restraint (shocking!) to save two of ’em for, um, my breakfast today, but I think the sugar messed with my brain. All I could think of was cupcake-inspired makeup looks, which lead to this pink attempt with a dash of purple.
Using products from MAC’s Give Me Liberty of London and MAC Too Fabulous, I started with a pink lip courtesy o’ Lip Pencil in Trimmed in Pink (a creamy pink from Too Fab), Lipstick in Petals & Peacocks (a creamy pinkish magenta) and Lipglass in English Accents (a creamy bluish pink), and because it reminded me of cupcake frosting I applied Beauty Powder in Shell Pearl (a shimmery golden peach) to my lips with my fingers.
