How would you wear the Lorac Starry-Eyed Baked Eyeshadow Trio in Rockstar ($25)?

Optimistic!
Watching the Super Bowl. I don’t follow football, but *that* was an exciting game. And how adorable was Drew Brees with his son at the end? My heart went “Awww!”
I shaved my big toe last night in the shower, LOL! That toe gets wicked hairy… I’m sure I could braid it.
If your lame ex-boyfriend sends you a friend request on Facebook, hit ignore. It’s more satisfying than Snickers.
MAC Crush Metal Pigments in Stacked 1/Smashbox Limitless Lipgloss in Boundless/MAC Ombre Blush in Ripe Peach
Get out of bed before you fall back to sleep.
The new Canon Rebel T2i. Oh, and a yummy chopped salad for lunch .
When Tabs and I were getting acquainted a few years back, I was calling him “FT”, for “Fussy Tabby”, on account of how cranky he always looked. The name never stuck, though; it morphed into Tabby, and then Tabs. 🙂
Skinny jeans, a black tank top and black sweater.
Finally assemble the two Ikea Alex Drawer Units I picked up a few weeks ago, try to make this Linguine with Garlicky Clams and Peas recipe, and add (no, seriously) some push-ups and sit ups to my workouts.
Have a great week, ladies. 🙂 Monday kinda snuck up on me this time… I turned around and BAM! — there it was.

MY BEST:
Rediscovering MAC’s creamy Groundwork Paint Pot ($16.50) eyeshadow. I’ve had it for years but sorta forgot about it until this week, when I wore it as a base for the purples in the Stacked 1 Crush Metal Pigments. I think the rich taupe and matte finish really contrast well with S1’s vibrant violet. LOVE IT!
MY WORST:
Brushing my hair last night I realized I can no longer get away with going five months between hair colorings. Gone are the days when I could easily hide a few gray roots because the few have turned into a full-on gray invasion!
What were your best and worst beauty experiences of the week? Please share yours in the comments.

The big game’s getting ready to start, which means football fanatics nationwide are sporting their team colors with shirts, hats and even makeup.
I’m not really rooting for one team over the other this year, but Tabs made his choice clear. He’s all about team spirit. 🙂

P.S. Tabs actually won the MVF (Most Valuable Feline) award in last year’s Kitty Bowl for his stunning fourth quarter touchdown catch that put the Mill Valley Wildcats over the top.
Yes, I know I sound crazy, LOL! 🙂

Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and cold beer — It’s Super Bowl Sunday, ladies! Is your tummy ready to rumble?
I don’t follow football during the regular season, but I love to eat my way through the big game, you know what I’m sayin’? 🙂
Let’s take a quick look around the interwebs before the teams head down to the field… Tabs is already warming up and stretching his calves.
Herbal Essences must have haird my cries (LOL!) because they packed the “get the look” section of their website with some pretty cool how-to hair videos and a glossary of tips on the best ways to use popular styling tools like hair dryers and curling irons. Nice.

thesixtyone and I have been making sweet, sweet music together all morning long. The site’s like a more social version of Pandora where Indie musicians can share their tunes, and listeners can vote them up or down. Good job on the interface and huge album cover-style images. I gotta get my music fix, ya’ll. 🙂

Please. visit. COLORSLAB. It’s one of those ideas that isn’t necessarily new (user-submitted content: magazine articles, photos and video), but it’s executed in a way that simply works, beautifully. The real life touching stories and imagery (the current issue is titled “The Sea”) gets me all choked up.

Hit IINSIGHT for sharp, bleeding edge urban music, fashion, entertainment and art scene news. WTF!? There’s an Adidas Original Star Wars Collection!?

DAMN! Drugstores rock… Imagine how much damage you could do with $150 at a CVS, Rite-Aid or Walgreens. You could get all 15 of these drugstore beauty gems and still have a little left over for candy. 🙂
Here are 15 of my favorite drugstore beauties. Each of these gets an A+ from me.
“They cost a mere $4.50 each (that’s my mid-morning latte, yo!) but have a super smooth, buttery texture that makes ’em feel a lot more expensive than that. Texture-wise they remind me of the $22 Guava lipsticks by Korres. That’s how slick and creamy they feel.”

“Moisturizing Body Wash … rinses clean and doesn’t leave a noticeable residue. Now, the humungo 20.3 fl-oz. bottle is bigger than Ernest Hemingway’s ego, but because it’s so big I feel like I’m getting a good deal. I even tried to see how it would work as an emergency shave cream, and it worked great.”
Full Review | $6
“Compared to department store brushes costing $20 and up, it’s a bargain superhero — affordable, with dense, super-soft bristles that deposit just the right amount of color on my skin. Not only that, but it’s quite the multitasker, too…”
Full Review | $12
“BOW DOWN before the mighty Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Top Blusher Brush. Marvel at its multi-tasking prowess and how it applies blushes and foundations with ease. And don’t be surprised if you find yourself trembling — with glee! — at the cash register. Not only is this brush amazing, but it’s also cheap — $14.99. Holla!”
Full Review | $15
“These wipes work overtime! You know how after you use some wipes you feel like you have to rinse? Like they’ve left a residue? I don’t feel that way after using Off Your Face. After wiping down with one of these … my face and neck feel squeaky clean.”

Heya, ladies. 🙂 How’s your Saturday coming along?
I dragged myself out of bed kinda early this morning to putter around the house, and now I’m just getting ready to meet a friend for lunch (do you know Marisol?).
Can you catch some waves with me before you go?
I may not understand a word these girls are saying, but I still loooove this song…
Dear Chris Cornell, I forgive you for lining your lower lashline, but only because yer sexy and can sing. 🙂
Did anyone else want to be Lisa Lisa back in the day?
Whatever you’re up to today, I hope you’re having fun!

Karen
