Happy Thursday, homies! I feel pretty good this mornin’. I think it’s because I went to bed at a decent hour last night. That doesn’t mean I didn’t watch any True Blood… I just moderated my dosage (a single episode). 🙂
Have a good one today!

I find popping big juicy pimples strangely satisfying… It’s gross but totally true!
TMI ALERT: I can usually resist mine, but before I met El Hub I briefly dated a dude with serious bacne. When those suckers would ripen, I’d go to WORK.
I dunno… Maybe I thought I was doing my part to liberate clogged pores, and no pimple was left behind!
Generally speaking, however, it’s better to refrain from popping pimples and to allow the body to heal on its own (over-zealousness can lead to scarring). That said, if you still must pop, pop safely. 🙂

Today procrastination hit me like Naomi Campbell’s cell phone! Instead of looking for a new freelance writing job, I painted my nails with Les Vernis nail polish in Indigo Paris ($18).
It’s a hypnotic shade (seriously, I can’t stop staring at my fingers) from Lancome’s Declaring Indigo Fall 2009 collection.
My fingertips look like I dipped ’em in dark blue calligraphy ink, and all I used were two thin coats (enough for opaque coverage).

I wish it were cheaper (le sigh)…
Ooh! This is the color I want my fantasty 1979 El Camino painted in (to ghost ride my whip, ya’ll!).
Have you ever worn a blue nail polish before? I wasn’t sure I’d like it, but I’m glad I gave it a try.
Come hell or high water, my cookies are hitting the hay (“haaaaay!”) early tonight. This staying up till 2 to watch True Blood is fun, but it renders me totally useless the next day.
What’s on your agenda tonight? Got any plans? I’m a little excited about going to bed early… Is that sad?

Rouge Allure in Amusing
Hiya, ladies. I must have stayed up too late last night watching more episodes of True Blood because now I’m paying the price.
sleepy…
But these Rouge Allure Lipsticks are kinda waking me up! 🙂

Rouge Allure in Instinctive
I think I’ve overdosed on late nights and vampire fiction, and it’s affecting screwing with my judgment. I came *this* close to drawing fangs on these Rouge Allure lipstick ($30) swatches from the Chanel Venice collection.

Rouge Allure in Captive
What would vamps think of these six lipsticks? None of the colors look particularly dark or vampiric to me.
It feels like Chanel took a conservative approach with the line, opting for brown, berry and rose shades balanced nicely between light and dark.
They don’t have the same summery feel that the fall Glossimers have (hawness!), but I dig them nonetheless.

Rise and shine, morning glories! This post is actually a reprint of one from last December that I literally stumbled upon this morning. I don’t hear very much about Stumbleupon anymore, but it’s still one of my go-to beauty resources and favorite websites overall.
As far as quick sources of mind-numbing inspiration, it’s one of the best.

Do you use Stumbleupon? I don’t know what I’d do without my SU fix. A day doesn’t goes by that I don’t spend at least a few minutes stumbling new sites.
Stumbleupon is an Internet community that works through a browser toolbar (but don’t let that scare you) where you find and rate websites, photos and videos. By clicking a small button in the toolbar, users vote thumbs up or down on the different sites they find.
It’s kinda like a website slot machine, where you click the Stumble button to see a random new site. Stumbleupon has millions of sites in its databases, all submitted and recommended by other Stumblers. Sites are organized into different channels, or topics, like Beauty, Fashion, Dancing and Art.
I might send an email to the makers thanking them for inventing one of the coolest tools known to womankind!
It’s one of the ways I look for inspiration in the morning or unwind after a tough day, kinda like watching brainless TV (Double Shot at Love, anyone?) or flipping through the pages of a magazine.
Once you’ve registered with the site and have the toolbar installed, you can choose the topics you’d like to stumble. For me, being able to pick topics is the pièce de résistance. It takes Stumbleupon from being a highly efficient waste of time and turns it into an actual resource. Through topics, you can filter out all the stuff you aren’t really interested in, like the sites about bear traps, inter-office politics and beef jerky.

Here are the 12 topics I have configured in my profile. The sites within these channels have been great sources of inspiration for me, but there are dozens of other channels (maybe hundreds) to choose from. Play around with ’em until you find the right mix for you. 🙂
How do you find inspiration or unwind after a tough day?
